Sanyo PLV-Z1 Cinema LCD Projector Review

* I couldn't find the lamp's service life anywhere. Sanyo keeps it in secret for some reason. I don't understand that becausethe period of time after which the projector asks to replace the lamp iswritten in its microcode. Usually manufacturers...

Sanyo PLV-Z3000 1080p 120Hz LCD Projector Reviewed

Sanyo was one of the first companies to incorporate 120Hz motion technology into a front projection system. The first model to showcase such a feature was their PLV-Z3000, which reviewer Andrew Robinson found to be just one of its many beneficial...

The PLV-Z3000 is a well-rounded full-featured projector, but it isn't perfect. For starters, there is no digital keystoning of any sort, which isn't necessarily a deal breaker, but for those with some placement limitations, it does make integrating...

For under $3,000 retail, the PLV-Z3000 from Sanyo is nothing short of a tremendous value in today's front-projector market. While I question the value of the 120Hz technology, overall, the PLV-Z3000 is a remarkably capable budget projector that...

Sanyo PLV-Z1: Entry level projector

The PLV-Z1 is a decent mid-range home theatre projector with plenty of oomph, although you wouldn't want to move it much. Read our Australian review.

Great budget projector

This was my first projector puchased shortly after it was released. At the time there were no true HD projectors in my price range so Sanyo's "1/4 HD" fit well within my budget. After 6 years it has been an incredible workhorse, allowing the family to...

Product Specifications

If there were Oscars for home theater projectors, the new PLV-Z1 from Sanyo would clean up. For example, as the winner of the Oscar for the best price-performance ratio, for the most elegant design and a special award for the most extraordinary 16: 9 cinema experience in its class. Until now, movie buffs had to dig deep into their pockets to add a wide screen cinema to their home; in exchange they received a heavy, space-hungry projector. The new Sanyo PLV-Z1 is the first home theater projector on the market that offers a true 16: 9 format in a handy size and astonishingly limited weight. Despite its high-class features, the PLV-Z1 is readily affordable even for "normal film fans" too. The projector's illumination of 700 ANSI lumens and exceptional 800: 1 contrast ratio in particular were previously reserved for high-end devices only. In addition, a newly developed optical system ensures optimum contrast. The design is unique as well. The robust, silver-black magnesium cabinet is discreet yet so stylish, the projector can be integrated unobtrusively and elegantly in any living room. Inside its aesthetic housing the PLV-Z1 contains even more features: With the horizontal and vertical manual lens shift function, the position of the PLV-Z1 with respect to the projection screen is fully adjustable; a manual zoom and vertical keystone correction add the finishing touches to ensure that your feature presentation appears perfectly aligned on the screen. The projector's comfortable features include an incredibly quiet fan system (28dB, ECO Mode) and 3D Automatic Uniformity Correction Controller, which ensures a uniformly illuminated image at all times. The PLV-Z1 meets professional home theater demands as well thanks to its HDTV compatibility.
