A good projector, but not quite as good as the Z3, and with a few minor annoyances.

Good colour reproduction, great lens shifting capabilities,

Illogical automatic dimming, Colour bleed problems, Convergence issues.

Very detailed image ; Usable picture/color controls for HDMI input ; Extremely quiet ; 3000 hour bulb life (max) ; Excellent LCD panel adjustment and maintenance options ; Reduced screen door effect

Requires calibration out of the box, specifically for white and black levels ; No 12VDC trigger

Looks like this projector has pros only and no cons. Yes if compared with High end and High price DLP projectors, you may find some minor differences. First thing to be noticed is that DLP produce a strong black level in the picture image. But again...

Manufacturer's suggested Retail Price on Sanyo PLV-Z4 is close to $3000 but the Manufacturer's Advertised Price and the street price is $2195. This is a great deal as there is not much difference in price from the previous model. This is the number one...

There is no perfect under $3000 projectors, but this new crop steps up the quality a notch. Last year's hot $4000 DLP projectors are now down around $2000 - $2500. They were better than last year's $2000-$2500 LCD projectors and commanded the higher...

Since very, very few people will ever get a chance to view the Sanyo side by side with the competition, there's one thing almost certain. If you purchase the Z4, and bring it home, it will exceed your expectations. That a relatively low cost projector...
