Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: A true flagship to take on the best of them

From the time we've been living with our mocha brown Huawei Mate 10 Pro, it's clear that Huawei has finally cracked this category. It's a flagship

Possibly the best-looking flagship phone right now ; Plenty of power and smooth operation ; EMUI 8.0 software is about as close to Android Oreo as could be ; Decent dual camera arrangement ; Long-lasting battery life ; Sumptuous 18:9 display

So-so signal ; Sometimes alerts are overkill ; Glass is a fingerprint magnet (and may smash under impact) ; No wireless charging ; No 3.5mm headphone jack (aah) ; Do we really need that B&W camera?

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a defining handset; a flagship every bit as capable as its Samsung, HTC, LG and Apple competition. Which is a serious accomplishment for a company that has been yo-yoing between on-the-money and on-the-lam over the last couple...

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: the powerful mobile office you've been waiting for

Does a dedicated AI chip make this the smartest smartphone around?

Great battery life ; Useful features ; Excellent screen

EMUI is still the worst Android skin

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

Huawei's best phone yet

Excellent design ; Great enthusiast camera ; Class-leading battery

No headphone jack ; No wireless charging ; EMUI not for everyone

Not only is the Huawei Mate 10 Pro the most impressive device we’ve seen from Huawei to date, it’s also one of the most impressive flagships currently on the market, undercutting the competition while offering more in some key areas.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

Sound quality isn't its strength, but otherwise this is a perfectly satisfactory smartphone.

Smart, slim, lightweight design ; Thorough spec sheet ; Smooth, detailed video ; Hi-res audio and HDR support

Music lacks excitement ; Colours a touch dull ; Strong competition ; No 3.5mm headphone connection

The sound quality can’t match the best, but this feature-packed flagship phone is otherwise more than satisfactory

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

A review of the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei's flagship Android phone for 2017 with a 6in OLED screen and the new Kirin 970 processor.

The Mate 10 Pro is the best phone from Huawei yet and although the cameras aren't as good as the Pixel 2 XL's, it has a better screen, better battery life and just as much processing power.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

Huawei has pinned its hopes on the Mate 10 Pro as its flagship phone for the year. It was designed to be just as good as the Galaxy Note 8 ( £749.99 at Amazon.co.uk ) . And with its huge display, powerful processor and cool camera, it gets pretty close.

The Mate 10 Pro is sleek and solid, very powerful and takes great photos in both colour and black and white. It's also water-resistant and battery life is superb.

You can't expand the storage and there's no headphone jack. Its software extras are gimmicky.

While it doesn't have all the Galaxy Note 8's features, the Mate 10 Pro earns its place in the high-end big-screen pack.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review

Big screen, big battery, big brain and small bezels together equal a massive success

Superb two-day battery life ; AI-enhanced speed and power ; Excellent camera ; Rich OLED display

Connectivity issues in testing ; Slippy back ; Some camera modes look unnatural

An all-round monster of an Android phone with a fantastic battery, massive power and excellent camera

Huawei Mate 10 Pro Review: Fighting Talk

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: Unlike last year, Huawei's seen fit to give UK fans the ‘Pro' version of its latest Mate 10 phablet and we've been putting it through its paces. For a relatively new player…

Attractive design ; Great battery life ; Fantastic performance ; Competent cameras ; Smart UX

Scratches easily ; Screen resolution could be higher ; No expandability ; Weak speaker setup

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro promises a lot and delivers in practically every instance. It’s an attractive and very capable performer with some powerful features for productivity and one potent imaging experience on top too.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro review: Style and substance

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a fine handset, but be prepared for a premium price

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is another fine handset from the Chinese giants – it looks beautiful, is capable of great shots and has a battery that won’t give up on you.
