Creating more questions than answers

Attractive design ; Great smartphone app ; 10 day battery life

Expensive ; Limited functionality ; No wireless ; Doesn't charge while syncing

The Jawbone does what it does well, but we wish it did more, especially at this price. It looks good and it certainly seems to work as intended, but if you were hoping that the Up was something more than a pedometer in fancy dress, then you'll be...

Jawbone Up (2013)

People in the know suggest that we need to walk about 10,000 steps a day, to have any chance of living long enough to collect our pension. Some of us, no pointing of fingers, struggle even with that. With jobs that see us sitting at desks all day, it...

Not a bad price, companion app is really good, helps keep you motivated, simple to use, reasonably inexpensive, good battery life

Can get in the way at times, calorie counting and sleep tracking aren't hard sciences

We found ourselves quickly becoming used to wearing the Up. Yet even now, there are times when we notice it. Typing on a laptop can sometimes be bothersome, with it clattering away on the wrist rest, but apart from that it's comfortable to wear, light...

Jawbone Up review

Jawbone's Up was one of the first wristband activity trackers, and will soon be superseded in the UK by the Up24.

Simplicity is the UP’s greatest strength, but for some people it’s just too basic. The absence of a display and wireless synching is annoying, especially when the UP costs considerably more than monitors such as the Fitbit One which have many more...

Jawbone Up review

Many high-tech fitness products have hit the market recently, all aiming to be better ways to help you get in shape. The newly redesigned $129.99 Jawbone Up, however, stands out by pushing the personal activity tracker into new territory. Unlike...

The Jawbone Up is comfortable, durable, and effortless to wear. Its mobile app is intuitive and presents data well.

The Jawbone Up lacks a screen. It only syncs with iPhones and some Android devices, so there's no other way to view your fitness data. It connects via a less convenient wired connection.

The new Jawbone Up is comfortable and durable, but limited support means this gadget won't make sense for many phone users.

Goondu review: Jawbone Up

I previously had a pretty comprehensive hands-on session with the Up, but there were definitely more insights to be gleaned.

But it’s given me a taste of what wrist-gadgets are capable of, and the space looks set to heat up very soon. Who knows? Maybe by this time next year, we’ll be crunching the power of a smartphone on a gadget tied to our wrists.
