With a document feeder located on top of the unit, the GT-2500 would suit the needs of small business users well.
Produces high quality, high-resolution scans ; sheet feeder works very well, large flat bed adds scanning flexibility
Presets can't be given descriptive name, software doesn't cater to general business audience, large for a desktop scanner, scanning is slow
The Epson GT-2500 is great if you need a combination of high-quality photo scans, regular text scans, and a flatbed for specialised scanning, but it may be overkill for some normal business users. If all you need is a scanner with an automatic feed for...

Epson's flatbed scanner processes pages quickly, but its bundled software falls short--and at 22 pounds, it's no lightweight.
Fast at scanning single-sided text docs, Flatbed adds versatility
Slow at scanning two-sided text docs, Doesn't create searchable PDFs

The Epson GT-2500 is great if you need a combination of high-quality photo scans along with scans of regular text documents, but it may be overkill for normal business use.
Produces high quality, high-resolution scans ; sheet feeder works very well ; large flat bed adds scanning flexibility
Presets can't be given descriptive name ; software doesn't cater to general business audience ; large for a desktop scanner ; scanning is slow
To use the GT-2500 , you put as many as 50 pages in the top-fed document feeder, launch the Epson Scan software on your Mac (there's also a green Start button on the scanner that will launch Epson Scan for you), set your preferences in the application,...

Epson America, Inc. Today announced two fast, affordable document imaging scanners designed for small business workgroups with the Epson GT-2500 and GT-2500 Plus. These flatbed scanners are not only engineered to capture high-quality, but can do so at...

Easy to set up and use (note: I scan mostly through Adobe Acrobat). Good quality scans. ADF handles small paper well and rarely jams, even on large jobs. Slightly large.

I really like this scanner, fast and good quality scan. Even our tech guy was impressed for the price.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
I am returning this scanner and buying the GT-2500 without the network card, because this is a very solid high performance scanner. New eggs support was awesome as usual and very understanding of my sitation!!
Black/White and Gray scale document scanning is near instant, and the color scans are extremely fast even at 300 dpi and above when connected via high speed USB 2.0, and the ADF is built rock solid
The network image express card that comes with this scanner has poor performance. If you use it to scan color documents at above 150dpi with the network card, the scan speed of this unit suffers significantly. I did some tests and the network card is...

I really only use this as a high speed black and white scanner. So I'm not commenting on its color abilities. I needed something that I can slap a stack of docs into and get a pdf created QUICKLY! This scanner does what I ask of it.
Nice software, can set it up for slap and scan. Slap the docs down, get 'em scanned pronto
Nothing yet for what I use this machine for
Consumer review (newegg.com)
We bought on of these as trial and put it on one floor of the office. Now after a few months of using it daily we are ordering two more for other departments.
IP Based Network scans. Sharescanner to all users on the network
none really
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Would be nice if the software had basic cropping and editing tools to avoid having to use Photoshop altogether.
Easy setup. Easy use. Duplex doc feeder works great. Epson scanner software is excellent as usual. Much better, by far, than what HP provides
None were expected. None were experienced
