Epson Perfection V30 review

The V30 doesn't have everything – if you want a built-in transparency unit, for instance, you'll need to pay around £20 extra for the Perfection V300 – but the scan specifications and results are significantly ahead of those offered by most MFDs....

Epson Perfection V30 Review

For those who know that they will never need to scan slides or negatives, the Epson is a good, affordable flatbed scanner. It scans quickly and is capable of very high image densities. If you need to scan text so that you can edit it from a word...

The Epson contains no mercury and draws little power.

There is no adapter to scan slides and negatives on this flatbed scanner.

The Epson Perfection V30 is one of the best buys for Windows and Mac users.

Epson Perfection V30

Quiet, fast, with excellent results. Works well with Photoshop etc.

Flimsy cover (designed to allow easy copying from books etc.). Stupid location of USB socket.

nice scanner

the only suprising factor here is how long it takes to scan, depending on the resolution you select. anything over the smallest resolution will be 3-5minutes per scan and the max resolution advertised is 45+ minutes... wow really? seems excessive. nice...

great quality and ease of use ; the scanner is quite large

takes too long to scan

Great Product

This is a great product and simple to use. Very easy instillation instructions and software. Install the software and just plug it in and operate. Does a great job and even allows you to adjust contrast to the digitized photos. Great buy for the price.

excellent scanner!

Wasn't free?

Excellent scanner all around. Great color quality, could use slightly better light control, but the Epson software is pretty decent and gives you a decent amount of control over everything. You can always scan directly into photoshop as well ; Scans @...

Scanner is a little bit slow to start up

how scanning SHOULD be

My dad got a umax astra 1200 usb 1.0 scanner back in the 90's and it was 120bucks back then... why does this one that does the same resolution cost 80 bucks 20 years later?

Pretty good price considering the age of the technology. At 300 dpi its very quick and quiet scanning. Software took a while to install for some reason but its easy to use once you get it on there

at 1200 dpi it takes a while to scan an image (even if its amazing looking afterward it doesnt justify over a minute for an 8.5x11 page). Should be cheaper since flatbed scanning has been around for over 20 years
