... but seems to have a wiring problem

 

Mechanically sound

After spending weeks trying to troubleshoot a performance problem with disks that were mounted in these mobile racks, I finally tried removing them from the rack and connecting them directly to the PSU and motherboard. The performance issue went away...

Solidly built - mostly

 

Not the first time I had a Sony drive do this. It will be the last.

Great design idea- trayless

Cheap construction, fan failed ( grinding noise) after 4 weeks, door latch broke (plastic). Took longer than a month to get an RMA from them

Pretty Good

 

I narrowed my selection down to this one....bought 3 of them. All worked properly. Bare drives in my Antec 900 ran about 25C...they run about 39C in these enclosures....still not bad at all. 25C is insanely cool for a HD. Built well, just be gentle...

does what it's supposed to. Insert a drive. Lock key. Close door. Drive works ; Nice HDD Access lite

None really.....see notes ; 2 of my locking sata connectors didn't lock in these....no big deal...they still fit firmly. The other(which is a different cable) did lock fine...your results may vary

Great functionality, loud fan.

 

The unit has a traditional Molex power connector as well as a SATA power connector.

Great mobile rack. Accepts bare SATA drives without a cartridge. The drive is reasonably well cooled

The fan has a high pitched whine that is very annoying. I removed power from the device temporarily until I decide what to do about it. It would be nice if the fan only turned on when a drive was inserted
