HP DeskJet 3720

The HP DeskJet 3720 is a return to the world of ultra-budget multi-function photo printers. A decade ago, most of the major printer manufacturers made photo printers – small-format devices whose sole task was to print photos, usually from PCs or Macs...

Brownie points to HP for trying a new take on the home all-in-one printer, but there are much better printers to be had for similar money.

HP Deskjet 3720

This is said to be the world’s smallest A4 All In One unit, being small you lose the option to have a flatbed scanner as that would increase the size but the sheet fed scanner works well and the unit is ideal to use remotely with a mobile phone.

Unusually for me I started by downloading a small App to my phone and was able to print scan and copy within around a minute. The registered link then let me download the required basic software to a PC to print, in order to scan I needed to download...

compact and light

The price I paid appears to be the standard retail price. Setting up the printer is drawn out. In the end I installed the driver from the CD. I signed up to a HP deal where they guess when I need fresh ink and send it on its way. Not clear at what...

OK for light users

I already knew my way around Instant Ink as I've got another HP printer enrolled in the programme. I found it very easy to add this printer to my instant ink account. However, the process of putting the cartridges in the printer was far from easy. The...

A useful printer

I have been waiting for a compact printer for my iPad and I can now carry it around to meetings. Perfectly suitable. The only improvement in service would be if the shop carried the inks as opposed to having to order them and collect another day.
