A responsive touchscreen and full spread of connectivity options, but the lack of Android disappoints.
Accessible OS ; Bundled with flip case ; Physical camera button
Low-resolution screen ; Limited app support
The metal backplate doesn’t entirely remove the slightly cheap feel of the plastic-bodied phone, either, which is far removed from the dense and compact body of the original Samsung Wave. Before you accuse us of harking back to unfair comparisons,...

Samsung's second Bada handset demonstrates that less is definitely less
Good user-interface design ; High-quality stills camera ; Nice flip cover ; Responsive screen ; Pocket-friendly size
Small app store ; Not enough on-board widgets ; Poor video camera ; Poor video format support ; Short battery life
The Samsung Wave 723 needs a considerably expanded app store if it is to be a success.

The Samsung Wave 723 (GT-S7230E) is Samsung's latest Bada phone. If you remember, that's their own mobile phone software platform. Launched at MWC 2010 on the Samsung Wave , the company has always said it is committed to the platform. It is perhaps...
Great build quality, responsive screen, good level of connectivity for an affordable phone, camera pretty good
Some Bada oddities, none of the excitement of being part of a grander system like Android, poor video capture and playback, Samsung Apps can't compete with rival stores
There are a few places where the Samsung Wave 723 lets itself down. Although it is a budget handset, and some compromises can be accepted, it’s the strength of the competition that really leaves the Wave struggling for air. It covers most bases and we...

The Samsung Wave 723 is a budget Bada phone with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. In true Samsung style, the 723's metal body is protected by a lovely leather flip…

Similar to Android, OVI and iOS, Bada is designed to offer you access to apps via an app store. It's not a huge app store yet but Samsung seems keen on investing more time and money into Bada so we hope developers will follow suit.

Samsung's initial attempt with their very own OS, Bada, – Samsung Wave - had too many first's to it making it an instant hit among users, thin aluminum chassis, a 1GHZ Hummingbird handset, for the first time ever Super AMOLED screen, were some of the...
The Korean manufacturer has indeed devised a mid-range compelling Bada handset that sure does steal the show in the smartphone market, but is yet to work on some rough edges like its OS, app store, and screen resolution etc. But the question still...

Amid the noise and clamour surrounding the Apple iPhone's iOS and Google Android-based smartphones, Samsung has been quietly trying to may headway with its own mobile operating system called Bada. The Wave 723 is one of ...
There are a lot of mobiles hovering around this price, and the lack of expandability via add-on applications is a real problem. If we were choosing a phone at this price, we'd be tempted to opt for something running Android instead.

While the handset has a decent set of features and an okay operating system, it is up against more competent Android devices that cost less
: Decent price, responsive touchscreen
: Poor screen, mediocre build quality
The Wave 723 has plenty to appeal, not least its low price, decent camera and excellent connectivity. However, the display is a letdown and the Bada operating system offers neither the choice of apps nor the intuitiveness that can be found on even the...

The Samsung Wave 723 has washed up on UK shores at last, more than six long months after the first handset with Samsung's all new bada operating system arrived – the perfectly pleasant Samsung Wave. As promised, Samsung's taking bada down market...
Keyboard is surprisingly responsive
Looks cheap, best bits of bada stripped out
If you're after a decent, cheap feature phone, this isn't it

The Samsung Wave 723 is the second phone using Samsung's own Bada operating system. It is capable phone with a lower price tag. But with cheap Android phones entering the fray, it stands at a disadvantage.
The Samsung phone has built-in WiFi and HSDPA on 3G networks for connectivity. You can set it up as a WiFi access point too. Unfortunately the chip powering it does not have enough speed to surf fast, open menus and the search boxes. But the...
