Kyocera Event (Virgin Mobile) review

Though the Kyocera Event has only 3G data and is nearly identical to the Kyocera Hydro , save for not being waterproof like the Hydro, it still has enough tricks up its sleeve to be considered a reliable and decent handset.

The competitively priced Kyocera Event has great call quality and its 3.2-megapixel camera takes decent photos.

The Event's touch-screen interface isn't very accurate, and its 3G data speeds are inconsistent.

Though you won't get blazing data or processing speeds on the Kyocera Event, as an affordable smartphone it's an excellent choice.

"I wouldn't buy again."

You get what you pay for with this phone. It's fine for talking, texting, Google Hangouts, and basic websurfing. Google Play also functions pretty well, with a few glitches. Battery life is incredible; with light use, the phone will last for two days...

Price.

Unreliable; died after 8 months

Price. Very long battery life. It's a smartphone for $60.

Unreliable; died after 8 months Processor can't handle Google Maps well Camera is worse than on my first-gen HTC Droid Eris. No, really. I don't even bother taking pictures with it.

"Would give it 1/2 a star if I could."

Buy something else! This phone is not worth the frustration you will get using it.

Under $50.

Everything about it! Freezes, reboots, shuts down, battery is very weak, WIFI constantly turns on, kicks you out of apps, touchscreen is bad.
