Kyocera DuraForce Pro 3 Review

Sturdy, tough build ; Removable battery ; MicroSD slot ; Solid overall performance

Underwhelming image quality and slow camera app ; Limited Android upgrades

The Kyocera DuraForce Pro 3 for Verizon isn't perfect, but it's one of the better rugged phones you can buy.

Kyocera DuraForce Pro

The Kyocera DuraForce Pro is the best rugged phone on Verizon, with solid specs and unique features for a relatively affordable price.

Good value. Rugged, waterproof build with shatter-resistant display. Excellent network performance. Secondary wide-angle camera lens. Includes wireless charging, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, and expandable storage.

Dated software. Some bloatware.

For $408, the Kyocera DuraForce Pro delivers a 1080p display, excellent performance on Verizon's network (it's also available on AT&T and Sprint), a ton of different connectivity options, wireless charging, an ultra-wide camera that fits in GoPro...

This rugged phone has a wide-angle camera to record your next beach trip

Cheaper than a GoPro and more durable than a regular phone, Kyocera's rugged DuraForce Pro features a 135-degree camera lens.

Review: Kyocera DuraForce Pro

Kyocera's DuraForce Pro is a capable, rugged Android smartphone for outdoor types who demand a lot from their hardware. No rugged phone is without compromises, but the DuraForce Pro has fewer detractors than most. Here is Phonescoop's in-depth report.

Kyocera assembled a compelling handset in the DuraForce Pro. The phone is fully rugged, yet compact enough that it's easy to use on a day-to-day basis. The design is still chunkier than your average metal-and-glass slab (it's comparable to an iPhone 7...

A good, solid phone built for an active lifestyle

I upgraded to this phone a month ago. I really easy to use and the design is straight forward. Compared to the more popular phones this device is heavier but is what I expected from a phone built for durability. It uses up the battery slightly more...

too many bugs and couldn't shut it down

terrible feature failures......easy features, but they just kept freezing up and had to reboot many times and then no function in being able to do that....on & off button would not work at all.

Tough phone!

Picked this one up to be able to use it outdoors year round and in nasty weather, first opportunity it did not let me down. Overall it seems a little buggy, hoping those bugs get worked out in a future update. The big surprise to me is how responsive...

Great phone

I've now had this phone for one week and I love it. First, it's fast as it runs clean Android. All screens are instant unlike my Galaxy which has the horendous Samsung Touchwiz software integrated into Android. Also, the sound quality is loud and...

Great for our teen son

We bought this phone primarily for its ruggedness. Our teen son isn't exactly careless, but he hasn't been super gentle on his electronics. This phone has decent specs, particularly in terms of internal storage. It is fast enough - he is able to play...
