A mid-range Android phone for those who can't quite afford an HTC One X.
Neat, slim design, Decent screen
No front-facing camera, Mediocre main camera, No HD video capture

Yet another mid-range HTC smartphone
Low price ; Vivid screen ; Compact design
Average specs ; Lower RAM ; Cut down HTC Sense ; Flimsy back cover
You may have been mistaken for thinking that there wasn't really a gap between the HTC One V and the HTC Desire C, but you'd be wrong, as the HTC Desire X forces its way between the two handsets.

The HTC Desire still has a place in our hearts: it was a phone that really shook things up. It impressed us with what Android could do and what HTC could do for Android. It was our hottest phone of 2010, with HTC top of the mobile pile. The HTC Desire...
Compact, affordable, respectable screen size, microSD card slot
There's nothing to get really excited about
The HTC Desire X falls into a space between the HTC One V and the HTC One S, but is more restrained in its design. There are some points where the Desire X has been squeezed on the spec sheet: the lack of front facing camera and limited HD support...

The HTC Desire X is the company's latest smartphone and one that sits slightly below the recently launched One V but above the HTC Desire C. Pocket-lint

The HTC Desire X is arguably the first true successor to the original HTC Desire. Bearing the same name, it improves upon the Desire and Desire S in every way, bringing the line up to speed two years on.…
Great build ; Fantastic camera ; Quick to use with good battery
No front-facing camera ; Limited RAM

Although HTC has returned to the Desire range, you'd be forgiven for confusing the Desire X with the HTC One S. From the front, they look about identical with a recognisable clean and rounded look that's now synonymous with HTC smartphones.
The HTC Desire X is a reasonable smartphone, but nothing more. It will serve you perfectly well on a day to day basis, but there's distinctly no frills attached. Those looking for a more exciting device will want to look elsewhere.

Looks to repeat the success of the original Desire
Great screen, nice design, fast for a mid-range phone, good battery life
HTC's Sense user inteface is frustrating, not capable of recording HD video
The HTC Desire X is a great little handset. It's not groundbreaking, but it's sure to appeal to those after an easy-to-use, attractive, affordable handset.

Can HTC's latest budget-friendly Android smartphone with its Snapdragon S4 chip, fend off the competition from Motorola's Atom-based Razr i handset?
The Desire X is a well-built handset, but one that has been planned out to a definite budget and not optimised for business use. The low-resolution rear camera and lack of front-facing camera can be overlooked, but its lack of processing power can...

Not everyone has the budget for, nor the Pierre Spies-sized hands to work on, the high-end Android models. HTC provides a decent mid-range offering in the form of the Desire X.
HTC's Sense skin is the best in the business; Sleek, stylish and unobtrusive; Decent performance, fast when it needs to be.
No 720p video recording; No dedicated camera button.

Stepping into the slightly worn shoes of the original HTCDesire comes the Desire X, with a flurry of improvements fornot much in the way of extra cost.
Ice Cream Sandwich, midrange price
Screen could be more sensitive, sluggish processor, not verydistinctive
The HTC Desire X is a perfectly decent midrange handsetbut is let down by its insensitive screen and it doesn't really doa lot to distinguish itself from rivals in this space, like the Galaxy Ace 2, Sony Xperia P or Orange San Diego.
