HTC offers speedy 4G connectivity in a budget handset
Speedy operating system ; Low cost 4G ; Good battery life
Limited internal storage ; Screen is not amazing ; Poor camera
Fast 4G network speeds for a bargain price is pretty tempting, but the HTC Desire 510 isn't quite as desirable as its name suggests thanks to some budget compromises, especially in the screen and camera.

HTC's new Desire 510 is an extremely affordable way to put superfast data in your pocket.
The HTC Desire 510 has 4G LTE, simple to use Android KitKat software, a capable processor and battery. For all that, its price tag is extremely reasonable.
The camera isn't suitable for anything other than quick emergency snaps and its chunky design won't turn any heads.
The HTC Desire 510 doesn't have the specs to excite committed tech fans, but it handles the basics well, has 4G LTE for superfast data speeds, and it doesn't cost the earth.

One of HTC's newest smartphones is the HTC Desire 510, a budget 4G-compatible phone that rivals the likes of the Motorola Moto G with a £149 price tag. We spent some time with the Desire 510 during IFA 2014, so here's our HTC Desire 510 hands-on...
It's a shame about the screen and the cameras on the HTC Desire 510, because aside from that it's a strong contender in the budget smartphone market. We're looking forward to putting the Desire 510 through some speed test to see how it compares with...

We review the Desire 510, HTC's most affordable smartphone so far. Things are getting bloody in the cheap 4G phone wars. You can bag yourself...
4G support
Camera is 'meh'
The HTC Desire 510 is the latest phone to offer 4G for cheap, but with some slick LTE rivals like the EE Kestrel and the Motorola Moto G 4G to contend with, the Desire has a lot to prove..

HTC claims its HTC Desire 510 is 'built to perform, priced to please'. It comes in under £150 so is certainly one of the cheaper phones on the market. We put it to the test in our lab to see whether it really can perform - read on to find out how it...

A lower rung on HTC's smartphone ladder, the Desire 510 attempts to offer a quality spec including 4G connectivity for what's expected to be a seriously low budget price. But does it succeed?
Robust build, decent processor, Android 4.4 KitKat, low price
Dull, sub-HD screen, so-so camera

The HTC Desire 510 packs power and 4G into an affordable package, but a weak screen could really hold it back.
+ Quad-core power ; + 4G ; + Big battery
- Weak camera ; - Little in-built storage ; - Low resolution screen
The HTC Desire 510 is very close to being a great phone, in fact based on our first impressions the only thing really holding it back is the low resolution screen. Even for an entry level handset this comes as a disappointment and while we don’t yet...

Building a really great non-flagship phone is all about making compromises in the right places. Motorola got the formula spot on with the original Moto G and unfortunately HTC seem to have missed the mark both on the Desire 610 and the Desire 510. The...

We're not far from the time when the smart in phone will be implied. Prices are falling, market share is climbing - it's near impossible to keep track these days of all the new entries in the low end and the midrange. HTC's Desire lineup is no...
4.7" FWVGA capacitive touchscreen, 208ppi ; Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC Sense 6 ; 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU; 1GB of RAM; Adreno 306 GPU; Snapdragon 410 chipset ; LTE connectivity ; 5MP fixed-focus camera, HTC Zoe mode ; 1080p video capture,...
Low screen resolution with low ppi ratio ; Fixed-focus camera ; No LED flash ; MicroSD slot isn't hot-swappable ; Thick and heavy (1cm and 158g)
The HTC Desire 510 is the kind of phone that's likely to be in high demand for a good while. Perhaps not the device itself, which will soon start dealing with growing competition, but the very concept of an affordable phone with the fastest network...

The HTC Desire 510 is just such a phone. This 4.7-inch Android KitKat device doesn't have the most impressive specs around -- an 854x480-pixel display and 1.3GHz quad-core processor certainly won't spark much excitement among the tech elite -- but at...
