MSI - Mega 180

MSI's box of tricks wisely follows two growing trends in computing. First, it's a small form-factor, bare-bones PC, ready for you to add your own components to turn it into your latest beast. And second - ...

This is a mixed bag. It looks good and performs well, yet the Mega 180 stumbles on value for money and falls a little short on user-friendliness. It's not bad, but there's room for improvement.

Good looking case

I wish Home Theater software was more flexible and a little more robust. I have not used the PVR function for the lack of the TV-Tuner card. But the DVD playing software is as good as others. The music and video clips software is weak. I had to trick...

Great looking case. Fits in with the A/V Equipment. No power up for Radio and CD player function are great. The included remote is good for those functions as well. Built in memory card reader is a great idea, so are front USB and FireWire.

I would tend to disagree

I bought my Mega 180 about one year ago, as potential model that I would sell to customers. I found that this machine is not that great, and I have no clue why other reviewers have given then system 4-5 stars? If you have constant problems with heat...

Goods just needs a little tweaking...

As to the reviewer who said you cannot fit anything in the PCI slot after adding a Videocard, that is untrue. I added a Radeon 9800 Pro + a Gigabyte network card. As for heat, you do need to tweak the case. I added 2 extra fans and actually REVERSED...

Before i start, any small form factor PC always will run hot. the display is great shows time, raido station, pc heat, etc. i added a tv card and it sits right in front of the fan (fan sits sideways sucks air from left and blows out on the right). so...
