Razer Ferox review: portable 360-degree sound

Although the Ferox speakers are a step up from tinny laptop speakers, the sound isn't amazing. The mid-range is the most prominent, which leads to clear vocals but the high-end is withdrawn.

With a compact and lightweight design the Razer Ferox speakers are very portable and multiple users can listen easily with the 360-degree soundscape. However, they're overpriced considering the relatively mediocre audio quality: they're only a minor...

Razer Ferox review: portable 360-degree sound

The Razer Ferox speakers are designed to be portable but still pack a punch. These pop-up pint-sized speakers scrap traditional stereo for 360-degree sound. Read our Razer Ferox review to find out more.

3W drivers allow for better sound than any laptop speakers; Extremely portable

Bass and high-end are withdrawn; Minor upgrade to most laptop speakers; Expensive

With a compact and lightweight design the Razer Ferox speakers are very portable and multiple users can listen easily with the 360-degree soundscape. However, they're overpriced considering the relatively mediocre audio quality: they're only a minor...

Razer Ferox portable speakers

Razer's Ferox is a portable speaker set aimed at portable gaming systems like the DS and the PSP; it'll work with just about any device with a headpho...

Compact, rechargeable power source, decent sound for the size

Bass response is weak, really only appropriate for portable applications, proprietary cord

One of the largest 3rd-party peripheral manufacturers in the game, Razer has built a reputation for stylish products that improve both our performance in games and the overall experience outside of them. Razer's Ferox is a compact speaker system that...

Razer Ferox Capsule Speaker - Nice and Sharp

Here's a great looking set of capsule speakers that delivers pretty good sound as well.

I really like these speakers, but I’ll have to say it again. I still prefer the sound from my Letscom HL4003, which we included in one of our Get Gadgeted pieces. The HL4003 is as loud, but not as shrill as the Ferox. And also has better bass response....

Razer Ferox gaming speakers

Razer's Ferox speakers are simple but sexy, and Razer claims they're 'tiny but mighty'. Tiny they may be - they're about as tall and wide as a tube of lipstick - but mighty they are not.

Razer Ferox Review

Tiny but mighty indeed.

Small profile, decent mid-range and high notes, nice LED glow, Battery lasts over 11 hours

Bass is a weak, Requires 3.5mm audio input instead of USB, No in-line volume control

Inside each Ferox speaker is a 30mm neodymium magnet driver, coupled with the “Expanded Resonance Chamber” and the omni-directional sound, you end up with an exceptional set of mobile speakers. The aforementioned Expanded Resonance Chamber is basically...

When you're travailing you are normally limited to headphones or the built in speakers on your laptop or mp3 player. It's really no surprise that the audio quality on those speakers isn't the best. A good pair of headphones can sound great but you may...

Although designed for your laptop, the Ferox is a perfect addition to a smart phone or mp3 player when you are looking for portable audio for everyone. Having recently moved, I took the Ferox out into my garage along with my phone and put on Pandora....

Razer Ferox - Bjorn3D.com

The HD6850 is in our opinion one of the more interesting GPU from AMD's HD6xxx series as it offers a very good performace versus price ratio. Not only that, as we will see in this review, the GPU also overclocks extremely well making its value even...

The Razer Ferox have outstanding power and quality of sound, making them ideal for any portable system, despite not being able to produce low bass sounds. For their innovative design and outstanding quality the Razer Ferox speakers earn the Bjorn3D...

Razer Ferox Module Gaming Speakers

With the iPad and its competitors taking over the market there is a bigger need for portable accessories for them. There are a lot of portable speakers on the market for surf pads and cells but none of them really stand out in the competition. Razer...

Clear sound ; Small ; Very nice looking ; Charges through USB

Lack of bass ; Longer cord / retractable cable

You can pick them up from Newegg for about 50$ which is a reasonable price for mobile speakers of this quality. As I said earlier I have tested this kit with a iPad, iPhone, and a laptop and it really sounds good even at higher volume. The sound is...
