iHome iH5 Review

The SDI iHome iH5r alarm clock is a good first attempt at bridging the iPod-alarm clock gap.

SDI iHome IH5 review: SDI iHome IH5

SDI iHome IH5

Wake to songs from your iPod; built-in dock for most iPod models also doubles as charger; attractive iPod-friendly design; line-in/-out jacks; buttons are backlit; includes remote; gradual wake/sleep volume function; affordable price.

No presets available for radio stations; thin bass; remote doesn't control iPod navigation.

For iPod owners in the market for a clock radio, the iHome iH5 is an attractive option.

Review: iHome iH5 for iPod

Good sound quality and feature set for the price, rivals costlier offerings without alarm feature from JBL and Logitech

some design issues hamper the alarm feature (which is what makes it unique) from reaching its full potential

Those people looking to use the iH5 as an alarm clock most likely don't need the remote, but I would recommend getting it if, like me, you think you would use the iH5 in a kitchen or family room setting.
