Samsung QE75Q900R review: delivers the most detailed, sharp and colourful pictures of any 75-inch TV, even when you're not watching native 8K content
Fantastically dynamic and punchy HDR pictures ; 8K resolution is mesmerising with native 8K content... ; ...but upscaled non-8K sources look outstanding too
Currently no native 8K content ; Limited viewing angles ; Some backlight instability in Standard preset
8K's influence isn't quite as dramatic at 75 inches, but it's still there and significant

8K has arrived and it's far more than just another number
Native 8K pictures are like nothing you've seen before ; Brightness and colour are out of this world ; The upscaling processing makes 4K look better than it does on 4K TVs
Some occasional backlight issues ; Some occasional colour fading issues ; Sound is a little swallowed
The Samsung QE85Q900R is a watershed moment for television technology

When Samsung debuted its first 8K QLED TV it was mightily impressive and mightily inaccessible – and while Samsung says QLED TV sales have increased by "200% year-on-year", owning an 8K TV is a pipe-dream for many. Coming in 65, 75, 82, and...
Smaller size suitable for more homes Stunning 8K images Impressive brightness and color
Still very expensive No Dolby Vision support
At a first glance, it looks like Samsung could have the answer to bringing 8K TV to the masses – now we just need content creators like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube to catch up.

Premium telly produces amazing results with native 8K video – it's just a shame there's hardly any of that to watch
You’ll be first on the block with a 4320p TV ; Native 8K footage looks gob-smacking ; Good HDR performance
Teensy problem: there's almost no native 8K content to watch ; No Dolby Vision HDR support ; Quite costly, as you'd imagine

It's easy to be cynical about Samsung's 8K TV. With precious little native 8K content currently available or due any time soon (outside of Japan, anyway), surely an 8K TV can't be worth buying now, right? Wrong, actually.
8K pictures look immense; Incredible brightness and color; Ground breaking upscaling; Cheaper than expected
85-inch screen limits market; Some occasional backlight issues; Some occasional color issues; No Dolby Vision support
The 85Q900R ushers in a new era of TV picture quality. Its native 8K pictures are incredible, looking just like the real world - only better.

Just as when 4K displays were first announced, the early buzz around 8K TVs has been predominantly negative. ‘Who needs 8K when 4K content is still barely a thing?' has been the cry. Often followed by, 'I bet you can't see any difference between 4K and...

Samsung has been teasing this 8K resolution TV since the world's largest tech show, CES, at the start of 2018. But much of the media attention has been focused on the lack of actual 8K content.
Amazing HDR picture; State-of-the-art image processing for superb upscaling; Very low input lag
No 8K content - thus ahead of the 8K curve; Connection box is a beast; Expensive
The Samsung Q900 is the apex of LCD technology, boasting 8K resolution, a wider colour gamut, and the brightest HDR ever. The state-of-the-art image processing uses artificial intelligence to make full use of all those extra pixels, and the local...

The 8K TV is here, but is the world ready for it?
Excellent interface ; Impressive upscaling ; 8K content looks jaw-dropping
…There’s no 8K content for you to watch
Perhaps 8K really is the future – but it’s going to be a long journey until we get there
