Panasonic TX-58AX802

With Netflix UHD now on board, the 58AX802 is a brilliant 4K TV

Excellent native 4K and upscaled HD picture quality ; Decent value ; Excellent smart interface

Care needs to be taken with contrast-related settings ; Native black levels not as deep as some rivals ; Occasional artefact from local dimming

Finally, regarding settings not related to contrast, make sure you turn off noise reduction for all native UHD content and, we’d argue, upscaled HD, and use the Intelligent Frame Creation motion compensation processing on either its Mid (for TV) or Low...

Panasonic TX-50AX802

A stunning 4K TV that gives Panasonic a seat at the top 4K table alongside Samsung and Sony

Spectacular picture quality ; Outstanding smart TV features ; Attractive lean-back design

Limited viewing angle ; Picture set up needs care

Another feature we’d strongly recommend you activate is the Letterbox Dimmer, which treats the LED lighting in the areas of the picture associated with the black bars above and below 2.35/2.4:1 aspect ratio presentations separately, so you can leave...

Panasonic TX-58AX802B review

It still can't quite hold off the competition, but if you're after a fine 4K TV, it's well worth investigating

Deep blacks ; Rich, warm colours ; Plenty of subtlety

Picture could be more crisp ; Darker areas occasionally compromised ; Narrow viewing angle

Updated Panasonic is a fine 4K TV

Panasonic TX-50AX802 review

Panasonic combines catch-up with 4K UHD with this game-changing 50-incher

Beautiful picture performance ; my Stream and roll-back EPG ; Elegant design

No support for Netflix 4K ; Bluetooth remote control

Panasonic TX-50AX802 review

Size doesn't matter when it comes to this 4K TV

Stunning native 4K performance ; Deep blacks and wide colour range ; Freetime roll-back TV programme guide ; my home screen launch page

Awkward Bluetooth touch pad controller ; Incompatible with Netflix 4K ; Full HD upscaling not as effective as rivals ; Uneven edge-lighting

This Freetime enabled Panasonic is beautiful proof that a 50-inch screen can benefit just as dramatically from 4K resolution as a larger panel. Incompatibility with Netflix 4K is an obvious disappointment, but in every other sense this TV impresses.

Panasonic Viera TX-50AX802B 4K TV review: Ultra-high definition bargain

We've been holding out on reviewing the Panasonic TX-50AX802 4K TV for some time. But now that time has come and the AX800 series is more relevant than ever thanks to the arrival of Netflix 4K. That, coupled with built-in tuners for Freeview HD and...

Decent 4K image, Netflix 4K app now available, great default sound, built-in tuners, plenty of ports and format compatibility

Uneven backlighting can cause some clouding to image, some modes (auto-on, fussy home screens) not ideal

If you're looking to jump on board the 4K ultra-high definition revolution, then the Panasonic Viera TX-50AX802B is a great option for a 50-inch set. At under £1,500 it puts the future in your living room for a price that won't leave you penniless -...

Panasonic TX50AX802 4K UHD TV review

And at around £2100, it's clear evidence that 4K is beginning to usurp 1080p at the large-screen end of the TV aisles. Joining this 50-incher in the AX800 series is the 58-inch TX-58AX802 and 65-inch TX-65AX802.

Ultimately, the Panasonic TX50AX802 is a thunderously fine UHD flatscreen, capable of outstanding 4K picture quality. Detail, dynamics and colour depth are all firstclass. The set also looks great with fullHD and upscales Bluray content with...

Panasonic TX-50AX802B (AX802) Ultra HD 4K TV Review

Panasonic's new AX802 Ultra HD 4K TV is a promising new beginning to the company's post-plasma era.

Highly accurate colours ; Very good native contrast ; Effective dimming system ; Super video processing ; Lovely remotes ; Tons of Smart TV features

Some uniformity issues ; Netflix 4K seems a very big miss

Pleasant as the mostly decorative front stand is, it’s the one round the back that takes the breath away – literally, as it weighs a ton! Other than that, the AX802 looks every bit the flagship TV and the inclusion of an HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2...
