LG 50PS70FD

 

The LG 50PS70FD with "Time Machine Link" is an even better deal than its more expensive sibling, and is just as capable as a television.

Excellent image processing. Able to choose your own hard drive to add PVR functionality. Ability to add extra storage if needed. USB playback support is unsurpassed.

Blacks can tend towards brown in lit rooms. Colour gradations could be better handled. Only one USB, so it's record or playback and not both.

The LG 50PS70FD "Time Machine" plasma is a very good all-rounder, which also doubles as a useful DVR — as long as you don't expect too much from it.

"Bad TV"

 

Just bought it 1.5 years ago. Warranty for 1 year, now TV is not working properly, Different colors coming on screen. Cant be replaced and have to spent 400 - 500 $$

Only had 1 day, all good, the few small bads ar well and truly outweighed by goods, so far.

Time machine, add own HD, EPG works well, good picture, easy setup, good/simple menus

Need to cycle through all channels to get full EPG, if already recording can not pause live TV
