A Windows 8 RT tablet with a Transformer-grade keyboard.

will also come pre-installed on the tablet – it’s ready for productivity as well as noodling about with games and the net. Nvidia says that the Windows Tegra Zone will be ready for launch, though, so a fistful of games will be on-hand for the fun stuff...

Asus Vivo Tab RT Review

The Asus Vivo Tab RT is a really portable device with loads of features, as well as some major power and the excellent keyboard dock. The Windows 8 RT OS is user friendly but does have a few odd quirks, and there need to be more apps available.

Quad-core processor; Bright, sharp responsive display; 64GB of expandable storage, along with SkyDrive; Dock offers double the battery life as well as a physical keyboard

A little awkward to type with dock; Windows 8 too simple and has the odd quirk; Shortage of decent apps as yet.

Even though Microsoft's Surface gets the lion's share of the press, it's not the only tablet running the pared-down Windows RT operating system . The Asus Vivo Tab RT will be one of four Surface rivals going head-to-head with Microsoft's tablet this fall.

Asus' Vivo Tab RT features the Windows RT's elegant and refreshing user interface, has a bright and rich screen, and is equipped with a keyboard dock for maximizing productivity.

The Vivo Tab RT's keyboard is cramped, its operating system takes some time to get used to, and both its app store and Desktop interface are severely limited.

With its vivid screen, sturdy build, and sleek user interface, the Asus Vivo Tab RT is an excellent tablet in its own right -- but it can't beat the innovative Microsoft Surface RT.
