Stereo speakers with "omni-directional" audio.

A basic set of PC speakers with a few quirks, the Logitech Z-5s operate entirely via USB, which means you need a PC to use them. The audio quality is adequate but nothing special.

Project sound both forward and backward, remote control

Bass and mid-range get bloated and distorted at times, some harshness in the highs, no AC power

Little light on the bass; no volume control on speakers themselves.

While we weren't blown away by their sound, the Logitech Z-5s' combination of a simple, clean design, USB connectivity, and some basic remote operation make them a decent value in the sub-$100 PC speaker space.

Logitech Z-5

The bargain-priced Logitech Z-5 speaker set delivers crisp highs and comes with a remote that lets you control your music library. Just don't expect deep bass.

Quality audio performance for price. Extra drivers add space to stereo field. Remote controls iTunes and Windows Media Player.

Not a lot of bass response. Grilles attract dust and smudges.

The fact it utilises USB port and doesn't require separate supply wiring. Design is brilliant. LOVE the 'chololate biscuit' remote! Sound quality superb. Easy to set up and use. Very well packaged. Summary: A thoroughly excellent product for USB...

Instructions a bit sparse, even with diagrams. Took me awhile to work out what the spare length of wire was for.
