JVC DLA-HD350 review

Solid build, good looks ; motorized lense shift, zoom and focus ease the set-up process ; startlingly good picture for the money

Remote can be sluggish ; strange positioning of inputs

JVC seems to have found a winning formula for its projectors – the ‘HD350 is another big-picture beauty

JVC DLA-HD350 review

The improved contrast and colours of JVC's latest D-ILA projector are enough to give its more established LCD and DLP rivals colourful, vivid nightmares

Even with its sporadic colour issues, the HD350 remains a truly stellar projector for its money

JVC DLA-HD350 D-ILA Projector

JVC blows John away again with its latest home cinema masterpiece.

The DLA-HD350 is a simply stunning projector that continues to prove the extreme potency of JVC's D-ILA Wire Grid technology. In fact, it's so good that I'd have recommended it wholeheartedly if it cost five grand. So at less than £3.5k it's nothing...

JVC's DLA-HD350 improves even further on the remarkable black level of the DLA-HD1. Couple that with its extreme sharpness plus better brightness, and you end up with a projector that is a bargain of gargantuan proportions.

Incredible contrast performance ; Exceptional sharpness ; Decent design ; Runs very quietly ; Excellent DVD upscaling performance

Lack of color management features ; Colours could be richer ; No PC input

Conclusion Although JVC's DLA-HD350 lacks one or two key features that make the more fully specified DLA-HD750 model look hugely appealing, it's still a stunning performer for the money.

Lens-shift and 2x zoom offer versatile positioning., Bright picture with high native contrast., Excellent video processing., Judder-free 24p.

Colors aren’t perfectly neutral., Awkward operation in places.

The HD 350 from JVC not only costs less than its HD 100 predecessor; it’s also way better! Combining powerful light-output and enormous contrast, the HD 350 is a hard act to follow — it can even produce top-quality pictures on XXL screens. Very...

TESTED: JVC DLA-HD350 HD Projector

Count JVC as a leading proponent of Liquid Crystal On Silicon technology, which the company has dubbed D-ILA (for Direct drive Imaging Light Amplifier) as used in the firm's top-tier projectors, such as the DLA-HD350 reviewed here. This three-panel...

JVC DLA-HD350 D-ILA Projector

We're no strangers to JVC projectors around the Home Theater campfire. We've reviewed several of their models over the past few years. I've been using a DLA-RS1 as a reference since 2007. It isn't perfect-no projector is-but it does a lot right, and...

There are two forms of Sharpness control: standard Sharpness and Detail Enhancement. Both of them worked best at or near their minimum values. Two other controls, Noise Reduction (NR-three types, Random, Mosquito, and Block), and Color Transient...

WOW. This projector is a bargain, but don't tell JVC. I have had projectors costing over $20,000 that weren't in the same league as this baby. Pciture will blow you away.

This projector is simply amazing, and blows the competition out of the water. JVC could sell these triple the price and people would still see them as a great highend performance projector.
