HP Deskjet F4480 review

It can be used to print, scan and photocopy, but the HP Deskjet F4480 only performs text printing with aplomb. It's a loud and has a small paper handling capacity. It is suited to users who only have to print every so often.

Overall, the HP Deskjet F4480 is a basic multifunction printer that's suitable for a small business with very light printing needs. It's the type of printer you buy if you know you'll only be printing one or two documents per week, instead of printing...

HP Deskjet F4480 multifunction printer

An HP multifunction device for users with minimal print needs

Simple to use, low initial cost, reasonable running cost when using XL cartridges, good text quality

Loud, poor scan quality, poor quality photo prints, cartridge replacement can be awkward, no PictBridge or memory card reader

HP's Deskjet F4480 multifunction inkjet printer is about as basic as a multifunction device can get. It can be used to print, scan and photocopy, but it only performs text printing with aplomb. It's a loud and has a small paper handling capacity. It is...

Works great!

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago and decided to hook it up to my Fedora Linux box. It was quickly detected and set up with very little intervention on my part. The scanning works great from within Linux as does the printing. I even copied a...

Very Nice Printer

Almost got a Canon printer, but then I looked up ink prices for Canon and they were quite expensive so I decided to go with the HP...Ink is still expensive but a bit cheaper than Canon.

Just got it today, and so far it seems to work great. I have scanned, copied, and printed a few things and it does a great job with all of those tasks

None so far

Bit on the loud side...

Great for the price, but you also get what you pay for. Keep this in mind. I only bought this because I needed a cheap multifunction for scanning things mostly. Works like a charm!

Cheap ; Multifunction ; Cheap ; Color printing quality seems decent

Pretty loud, clanks around quite a bit when printing. Not the sort of printer you'd want doing alot of work on, especially in the wee hours of the morning ; Ugly! ;) ; Scanner software's default settings or horrid! Set everything to manual and it might...

Disappointing experience

Once installed, I test printed a text page, looked good to go. A short time later, I tried to print a picture, and it printed about 1/4 inch of the picture, spit out the page and flashed the power light at me. No errors on the PC screen. Could not do...

Scanned and copied very nice

Setup was disappointingly slow. The software took 30-40 minutes to install, and stuck 400MB of junk on my PC ; Loud operation (when it did work) ; No card slots on printer, like other brands have (to be fair, it didn't claim to have them, so I knew...

Great printer

"I have no complaints at all about this machine. The only thing that confuses me sometimes is that it prints last page to first page. But maybe that's true of all printers--I don't know. It's not a problem in any case. I'd definitely buy it again."

Easy to install

"This item was very easy to install, and the only problem I've had is printing addresses on regular #10 envelopes. For some reason the address becomes taller than it appears on 'print preview' and half of it doesn't print on the envelope"

Software problem

"The software required by this computer corupted my computer start up sequence and when attempting to print a report from an "Excel" report it will not print in landscape mode. I'm not sure if it's the printer software or a conflict with my XL...
