The ZTE Blade V7 Lite is the latest in a long line of respectable cheap phones from the Chinese manufacturer. But it's arguable that ‘respectable' and ‘cheap' are no long enough in a market where you have to look really hard to find an outright bad...

Beauty is sometimes only skin deep
Nice design ; Expandable storage ; Fingerprint scanner
Dull 720p display ; Dodgy camera ; Sluggish performance
The ZTE Blade V7 Lite's premium looks belie its budget origins. Interesting UI tweaks and the ability to expand the phone's storage can't fully atone for the dull 720p screen, poor camera and weak chipset, but this is still decent value for money.

IPS panel with good black level and contrast ; decent battery life ; fingerprint scanner ; aluminum casing
dark screen ; speaker ; performance ; slow SD card slot
In our tests, the Blade V7 Lite presented itself as a good mid-range handset from the lower price range in a quality metal casing and with a decent battery life. However, it also exhibited a few shortcomings. The IPS panel is solid and high-contrast,...
