Faster and leaner, the San Francisco II takes over from its predecessor as the de facto ultra budget smartphone of choice.
Large high res screen is great for web, email, etc, LED flash makes camera more useful, Provides proper smartphone experience for very little money, Runs latest Android 2.3.5 OS
Processor is slow, Camera still quite poor, Build is still very budget

We take a look at a truly game changing, feature packed budget smartphone which Orange cannot ruin - try as it might...
Brilliant screen ; Feature packed ; Incredible price
Orange Bloatware ; Poor Camera
The Orange San Francisco is a staggeringly well featured handset which simply has no peer when it comes to value for money. Orange has done its very best to make a mess of the user experience by riddling the phone with bloatware, but it is nothing some...

Setting a new benchmark for the budget Android brigade
Great screen ; Super build ; Nice Orange widgets ; Can ditch the Orange skin easily ; Useful apps pre installed
No Twitter out of the box ; Disappointing stills camera ; No Facebook out of the box ; Very disappointing video camera ; Poor FM radio
Every operator has its budget Android offering and you can also get several SIM free. The Orange San Francisco is the best of the bunch because Orange seems to have got the bottom line features right.

The Orange San Francisco is the network's adaptation of the ZTE Blade. It is a budget Android handset, offering up entry-level hardware specs but coming forward with a cracking display and offering Android 2.1, albeit with a heavy dose of Orange...
Screen resolution and touch response, price, slim design
Orange integration is a little heavy, some software bugs, poor video capture
The Orange San Francisco is something of a surprise package. Pitched at the entry level, it sets a new standard for displays, outstripping its rivals by a large margin. It isn’t a powerful handset, so isn’t as snappy as more expensive rivals, and you...

Coming in at just £99, Orange's own-branded San Francisco handset is one of the cheapest Android phones around. That low price-tag doesn't mean you can expect a budget experience though, with the San…

Orange has dipped under the £100 bar with this ZTE-manufactured Android touchscreen effort – but has it cut any corners?
Camera and battery aside, this is simply the best hardware for the money

A Gingerbread Android for less than £100, with good build quality
Only 512MB of shared storage, but a microSD card will sort that out
Expert review by : Crowdedbrain (crowdedbrain.co.uk)
A lot of excitement was created with the launch of the San Francisco from Orange (which is actually a ZTE Blade) and it's not hard to see why with a price tag of £99 (+ £10 top up) and plenty of high-end features such as 3G HSDPA, GPS, a large 3.5”...

Top of the class when it comes to Android smartphones for around the £100 mark - it's just a shame it comes clogged up with useless Orange apps. Happily, it's not hard to get rid of them
Great price, responsive display, Android 2.1 operating system, excellent GPS and web functions for the price
Too many non-useful Orange apps; a £1 charge to load your webmail account onto the Orange Mail app unless you're a Gmail user
Get rid of Orange’s bloatware and you'll have an excellent handset. It can hold its own in the company of pricier smartphones and is far superior to other handsets in its price range. Just make sure you dump the junk software first

The term "smartphone" has long been attached to the Android OS. It's meant that many have perhaps classed the device as a business tool or a high cost handset. Now, with Android appearing in a wider range of devices in various shapes and sizes, we're...
For the money this is a crackin’ handset. Sure, we wanted a better camera and perhaps a trackball of sorts for editing text easier but, for the money, this is a great phone which packs a tonne of features for not-that-much-money. We were impressed by...
