Sony Ericsson W302 review

A cheap and cheerful phone for those who prefer tunes to tech

Walkman music player ; Slim casing ; 2 megapixel camera ; 3.5mm headphone jack adaptor ; Good battery life

No 3G, Wi-Fi or GPS ; Limited internal storage

Minus the bells and whistles, but still does a good job of sounding good

Sony Ericsson's W302 slots in at the lower end of the Walkman range but at what cost?

Great sound for such a low-spec device, slick design, intuitive user interface

Sony Ericsson W302

Aimed more at the budget end of the market, the Sony Ericsson W302 handset is both lightweight and small in size.

My recent mobile phone companion has been a review sample of the Sony Ericsson W302 handset. Aimed more towards the budget end of the market, this mobile phone is of the candy bar variety. Decked out in midnight black (I believe there is also a white...

Sony Ericsson W302 review

The left side of the phone is home to the standard large Sony Ericsson proprietory connector port and situated further along the phone is the Walkman quick launch key, allowing quick access to the phones multimedia functions

Small and Compact ; Low Price

small and fiddly buttons ; Low in-built memory

Sony Ericsson Walkman W302 budget music phone

Cheap and cheerful, but sporting a better-than-average music player - all in a slimline package.

The cheapest Walkman phone still manages to deliver an above-average music player and its 2Mp camera is better than you'd expect from the rather lowly spec. There are no fancy fripperies like 3G or GPS but it's only the lack of a decent browser that...

Sony Ericsson W302 review

We review the W302, Sony Ericsson's credit crunch Walkman

Walkman music player ; Slim styling ; 2 megapixel camera ; 3.5mm headphone jack adaptor ; Long battery life

No 3G ; No Wi-Fi or GPS

The least of Sony Ericsson’s Walkman range still makes a beautiful noise.

Sony Ericsson W302 Walkman

The Sony Ericsson W302 Walkman delivers good sound quality in a neat design for a low price. For those who want a decent, inexpensive phone that plays music, it's a good choice, but don't bother with the poor camera and web browser.

Great sound quality ; Included FM radio ; Very light ; Trim design

Proprietary headphone jack ; Clumsy music-transfer software ; Jaggy video ; Shoddy web browser

We'd like better music-transfer software and a standard headphone jack, but we're willing to forgive these failings in a budget-level handset, especially because it includes a headphone adapter and a new Sony Ericsson media manager is on its way....

Some of you may find themselves wondering as to why we have decided to review such a simple make, given it´s pretty clear it can be described with but two words “It´ll do”. Well, we´ve got two major reasons to be interested in it. First off, it looks...
