The Walkman-branded Sony Ericsson W205 is a budget phone, but can its feature-set offer extra value too?

In this fast-moving era of smart phones, netbooks, Blackberrys Wi-Fi, 3G, HSDPA and all manner of confusing, complicated names, it's easy to forget that some people just want a phone that does the basics…

Easy to use interface, music player ticks all the boxes, cheap
No bundled USB cable to transfer songs, supports only up to 2GB of music

Despite its music phone status, this is a basic phone for a good price.
It has a simple user interface, a music player and a very low price.
There’s no USB cable for music file transfers, and barely any storage space.
It may be called a Walkman phone, but the Sony Ericsson W205 barely fits the bill, especially as you don’t even get a USB cable for easy file transfer and the internal memory is tiny. But as a basic phone for a very good price, it does the job nicely.

Sony Ericsson are one of the most respected mobile handset manufacturers on the market, and with the W205 they are hoping to enhance that reputation. The design follows much of the same stylish design as other Sony Ericsson's, with a slide opening...
These days there are more up to date phones on the market but the Sony W205 still holds it on when it comes to music and style.

The Sony Ericsson W205 is an old school offering in a world of social mobiles, unlimited music downloads, and smartphones entering mid-tier price ranges. It's a tiny phone that aims to just make calls and play your tunes on the commute. Is that enough...

The Sony Ericsson W205 is an entry-level Sony Ericsson walkman phone for the budget conscientious.
Compact and affordable and does the basics well. Good music player.
Poor camera, so-so screen, phone feels plasticky.

The W205 from Sony Ericsson further increases the already staggeringly large mobile phone collection other wise and more affectionately referred to as the Walkman range
