While the waterproof Sonim XP Strike phone can surely take a hard beating, it not only has a handful of design flaws, it has a terrible camera to boot.
Sprint's rugged ; includes basic Web features and push-to-talk Direct Connect.
The XP Strike charges through a 3.5mm jack, has a few design flaws, and takes terrible pictures, and its display collects moisture after a dunking.
While the Sonim XP Strike is tough as nails, Sprint has other rugged devices that are better not only in performance, but in price too.

It doesn't do much more than make calls, but the Sonim XP Strike is Sprint's toughest push-to-talk cell phone.

Though it isn't the sleekest device, the Sonim XP Strike from Sprint isn't anything to mess with. Fulfilling military-grade specifications for ruggedness, the handset can survive the toughest of environments. It's shock-resistant, waterproof, and...

These days Sprint's Direct Connect has become a niche service, but Sprint has not forgotten about these customers and have a small lineup of rugged, dependable handsets available. The newest entry to that lineup is the Sonim XP Strike, a basic bar...
Was able to withstand whatever we threw at it ; 3 year warranty, including accidental damage
Call quality was suspect at times
Sonim has made a very basic phone that aims to do one thing well: withstand punishment. The XP Strike won’t win any beauty contests, the OS is slow and dated and the camera is horrible. None of that matters, but what does is that it was able to...

Sonim takes a stab at the U.S. market with the XP Strike, a rugged PTT-enabled feature phone for Sprint.
Consumer review (cnet.com)
Yes it's heavy, and yes it's not loaded with apps, but it is the toughest phone Sprint has ever sold. With excellent reception and call quality, and a speakerphone you can hear over an idling Cummins diesel. Unfortunately the CNET reviewer did not...
Excellent reception, great call quality, solid build, tremendous speakerphone, the flashlight and fm radio.
MP3 player is very out-dated

I've bought two, (one for my father). Wanted a no-hassle phone with good support rather than gimmicks. Bottom line is, mine broke down (sim card socket replacement), this was repaired (I had to pay the shipping as only Sonim can service it). Now after...
Battery lasts long, and can take pictures at odd places
The picture quality compares to phones from 4 years back, Sending SMS's will make you want to throw the phone, keys peeled completely after a year, remote service centre does the minimum or less, runs only java certified by few, GPS useless
