Samsung has hit the headlines in the mobile phone world over the last year with a number of handsets - the Jet, the Omnia and the Android-packing Galaxy i7500, most notably. The Samsung Genio Touch is firmly entry-level. It'll appeal to teens who want...
Good touchscreen, incredible battery life, cheap
Interface is horrible to use and there's no 3G, Wi-Fi or GPS
The Samsung Genio Touch is firmly entry-level. It'll appeal to teens who want a usable phone but don't want to spend a bomb. If it had a slightly faster processor and better UI, it'd be considerably improved, but as it is, it's difficult to accept the...

With touchscreens ten-a-penny, you'd be forgiven for overlooking this budget blower. The Samsung Genio Touch is cheap, feels tackier than a hen weekend in Blackpool, and lacks the specs of even its most downmarket finger-friendly rival. But to do so...
Speedy OS and impressive interface wrapped in a cute and cuddly design
Not a true smartphone, and lacking the luxuries we'd expect with touch

The Samsung Messager Touch SCH-R630 on U.S. Cellular isn't quite as good as the Cricket version, but it still has its own merits.
Roomy QWERTY keyboard. Loud speakerphone. Good battery life. Value priced.
No GPS. Confusing menu layout. Stiff touch screen response. Useless for video recording or playback.
Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions Thankfully, the Messager Touch is set up nicely for listening to your tunes. The standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted microSD card slot, and easy-to-use music player app are all welcome. My 32GB SanDisk...

Samsung often makes a line of phones specific to smaller carriers such as U.S. Cellular and MetroPCS , and the Samsung Messager line is an example of that. Both the Messager and the Messager II are pretty basic and have a design similar to that of the...
The Samsung Messager Touch has an ergonomic and compact design, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2.0-megapixel camera, and good call quality. We also like that it has 3.5mm headset jack.
The Samsung Messager Touch's camera has mediocre photo quality. There's also no quick access to the e-mail or browser applications.
The Samsung Messager Touch's touch screen and keyboard make it a great multimedia messaging handset for U.S. Cellular.

I had few complaints about the colorful, if cluttered UI. Unlike earlier budget touch screen devices I've reviewed, the Messager Touch was relatively responsive. This is a small device with a small touch screen; there's no getting around that. But it...
Good keyboard. Loud speakerphone. Colorful UI. Free GPS navigation. Value priced
Short battery life. Useless for video recording or playback
The Samsung Messager Touch has a few flaws here and there, but it's a good deal for anyone looking for unlimited texting and WAP browsing on the cheap.

An upgrade of last year's Messager, Samsung's Messager Touch is smaller and equipped with a touch-screen display. CNET's Nicole Lee says "the phone is a decent multimedia-messaging phone," while PCMag.com's Jamie Lendino calls the Samsung...
Affordable, responsive user interface, standard headphone jack, easy-to-use MP3 player
Keys are small, web browser loads slowly, voice quality is mediocre, battery life shorter than promised
Consumer review (cnet.com)
Holds charge well, great call quality, html web-browsing, easily personalized with wallpapers and unique ringtones, nice speakerphone, decent pre-loaded apps, compact.
Lower profile QWERTY keyboard buttons make for slower texting and more mistakes, touch screen not as intuitive as other phones, mediocre camera, text messaging limited to 150 characters per text, no multiple page texts.
