Samsung Galaxy Avant (T-Mobile)

The Samsung Galaxy Avant is a decent value for 4G LTE-equipped smartphones on T-Mobile, but better options abound on the unlocked market.

Affordable. 4G LTE connectivity. Generous internal storage.

Mediocre camera and display quality.

Camera and Conclusions The 5-megapixel rear-facing camera takes just-passable photos for online sharing. Photos captured in bright outdoor light show a decent level of detail and balanced exposure. The Avant tends to overexpose shots a bit, which helps...

Samsung Galaxy Avant review

With modest specs like a low-resolution 4.5-inch screen and a 5-megapixel camera, T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Avant is all about value. Android 4.4 keeps it current, as does the 1.2GHz quad-core processor inside. Unfortunately, Samsung's decision to step...

Android 4.4 and a 1.2GHz CPU make the Samsung Galaxy Avant worth considering. Its leatherlike plastic backing feels comfy, and call quality was fantastic.

Its camera takes lackluster shots slowly, and a dreary TFT screen drains the life out of your websites, photos and videos.

Its screen and camera disappoint, but Samsung's Galaxy Avant is one of T-Mobile's better options at this price.

"This phone is clearly defective. The incoming and outgoing call features are terrible. Whoever you are talking to can't understand you or vise versa.

This phone is defective. I judge this because I bought 2 phones at the same time, and both are having the same issues. Not a coincidence I think. If you only want to use apps or text it is fine, except for the very short battery life. But if you plan...

Lots of memory

Very poor camera, short battery life, and terrible phone call features. Also very quiet tones. Poor speakers.

"powerful for its size"

I got this to replace my 2 year old HTC S, something woefully out of date. This phone is responsive and has a bright screen. It is the exact phone that I have been looking for. Unfortunately the camera is not good at all and the battery drains quite...

Good buy for the features, some compromises

Previously had a Galaxy S4 that I liked, but when switching to T-Mobile, wanted something nearly as functional but without the $600+ flagship price. This was it, and it fit the bill for just over a year now. Lately though, system is feeling sluggish...
