Samsung Galaxy S Aviator (U.S. Cellular) review: Samsung Galaxy S Aviator (U.S. Cellular)

The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator boasts a vibrant screen, a solid 8-megapixel camera, and an attractive build quality.

While the Aviator is US Cellular's first 4G LTE handset, we couldn't test its 4G skills since the carrier's LTE network is limited to just a few locations. The phone also runs a slow single-core CPU.

With the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator, US Cellular gains another Android smartphone option. Unfortunately, the carrier's limited 4G LTE access and the weak single-core CPU weigh down an otherwise high-flying handset.

Samsung Galaxy S Aviator (U.S. Cellular)

Right now, the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator is the only phone on U.S. Cellular's 4G LTE network, but it isn't the best phone the carrier offers.

First 4G LTE phone on U.S. Cellular. Good call quality. Solid camera and camcorder. HDMI out port.

Dated single-core processor. Limited LTE coverage area.

4G plans for the Aviator cost the same as 3G plans for U.S. Cellular's other devices; that's a good thing. You can get 450 minutes of voice calls, unlimited texting, and 5GB of 4G data for $79.99 per month. That same plan on Verizon costs $89.99 per...

Samsung Droid Charge Cell Phone Review

The Samsung Droid Charge has the best display that we've seen on a mobile phone. We found it even superior to the iPhone 4's Retina Display. The screen is crisp and clear. Colors pop and details are a delight to the eye. Combine that with a good solid...

Samsung DROID Charge Review Pt. 1

Consumer review (cnet.com)

"This phone is a complete nightmare!"

Biggest waste of money ever!! This phone has been nothing but a nightmare since the day I got it. I've had it now for 1 1/2 yrs and I'm just biding my time till I can get a new phone. I've done the factory resets and downloaded the upgrade but nothing...

Lightweight & nice display

Freezes up and shuts itself off constantly. Can't access apps because it drains battery.

"Save yourself the headache and get a different phone."

I'm giving this 1 star because I can't give it 0. It really deserves zero stars, and I can't believe the cNET editors gave it such a high rating. I have had this phone less than 6 months. I knew within the first month that it was going to be a problem,...

It is sleek and relatively lightweight. The display is vibrant.

It freezes up. The battery life is short. Cannot reliably answer calls without LOUD bursts of static.

"Short battery life, freezes, constantly on charger, poor"

I would not recommend this phone at this particular time, they need to work out the bugs!

Display and touch screen are ok!

Battery Life, Freezing up, slow process and apps that come on it that cannot be removed ... too many bugs that need worked out.

"Only 4G LTE option with US Cellular"

Sporadic 4G LTE service is not worth it. Switching to iPhone 4S with a more reliable 3G connection.

Vibrant display, ease in making calls, great camera, quick access to settings like WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, and alerts.

Android OS, what a pain! Hard to read Google calendar, weak battery life if 4G LTE left on, and frequent lock ups or stalled apps.
