Chinese upstart OnePlus has been enjoying great success since it launched its first OnePlus One smartphone more than a year ago.

OnePlus is going even cheaper with its new phone
Super low price ; Attractive design ; Bright display
No NFC or fast charging ; Poor performance ; Hard to get a hold of
OnePlus have just done it for a third time and created a good phone for those on a budget. It doesn't have as many fancy features as the OnePlus 2, but for the price it's an impressive set up.

Has OnePlus managed it AGAIN?
Great design ; Cool customisation
Juddery performance ; Poor low light camera

At least one company seems to get what new battery tech is for.

So close to budget nirvana, yet so far.

OnePlus has a formula: make phones affordable. We're huge fans of the OnePlus 2 handset, which effectively carved a new standard by delivering near-flagship quality for a middling £239 price-point.
Build quality trounces near-priced competition, microSD expansion, AMOLED screen delivers deep blacks
Graphical limitations in this configuration, no NFC, no fingerprint scanner
On paper the OnePlus X reads like a well-balanced equation: for a sub-£200 phone its build quality and AMOLED display put it beyond the competition.

The OnePlus X is one of the best value phones, but sadly the company won't be making a successor. That's a shame, as the current OnePlus X has some things missing you might not want to do without. Find out what in our full OnePlus X review.
The OnePlus X was the best value smartphone of 2015. We love the premium design in a smaller form factor to the firm’s other phones. Software is a strong point and you get a gorgeous screen. However, cuts had to be made somewhere and the X is lacking...

The OnePlus X is a great-value, good-looking Android phone, but there's another variation that might tempt you even more. The white OnePlus X (aka Champagne OnePlus X) was previously available only in China, but as of today is also available in the UK....
The white or Champagne OnePlus X is a gorgeous variant of the black or ceramic OnePlus X, and you can get one today without needing an invitation. A brilliant-value phone that's now officially available in the UK.

OnePlus turns out one of the finest budget phones of the year with the X, but the device has one big data flaw.
The inexpensive OnePlus X is fast, beautifully designed and has some nifty customizable features.
The glossy handset is slippery and has limited compatibility with key LTE bands in the US.
The OnePlus X is one of the best budget phones of the year, but its limited LTE support make it a crapshoot for US customers who want high-speed data.

A phone with the X factor, and plenty of it
Fab design ; Great performance ; Stunning value
Dodgy Auto brightness setting ; Mushy low-light photos
A super-value phone that sets a new standard among sub-£200 mobiles. Not perfect, but bloody good.
