Motorola Brute i680 (Nextel)

The Brute i680 is as its namesake implies: a tough talker with a very solid exterior, loud speaker, and terrific voice quality.

Very rugged. Stellar call quality. Loud speakerphone. Fabulous battery life.

Large, thick, and heavy. Multimedia features still feel like afterthoughts.

Rugged Tests and Conclusions If this were a consumer phone, I'd dock points for the i680's media deficiencies and heft. But this is a work phone, and you're buying something with that heft: extreme durability. To test that, I took one of my loaner...

Motorola Brute i680 (Sprint) review:

The Motorola Brute i680 doesn't pretend to be anything other than exactly what it is. Even the slightest glance will show that this is one tough, durable phone. Its thick rubberized skin and bulky profile is far from attractive, but you know that it...

The Motorola Brute i680 has a rugged, durable design, well-designed controls, and a functional feature set. Call quality is top-notch.

The Motorola Brute i680 is missing a dedicated Back button and an exterior camera shutter. The headset jack is 2.5mm, and photo quality is forgettable.

The Motorola Brute i680 isn't pretty or flashy, but it delivers on call quality and its design should withstand the elements.

Tough build, great call quality, user friendly navigation controls, long battery life

Non-standard 2.5 mm headset jack, mediocre photo quality, bulky profile

Great phone for what it is. Only problem is limited signal indoors, but other that that it is rock solid.

Motorola Brute i680

Okay this phone was our "toughened" replacement for the earlier version. In my previous review on the earlier phone I wrote that essentially the phone was designed to be dropped behind enemy lines so that the enemy would be so frustrated that they...

Motorola Brute i680

Overall not impressed with the phone portion of the device. Volume is horrible, clarity is worse, battery doesn't last as long as others. The apps included are great but make sure you have a car charger if you're using the GPS. Overall I'd give it a...
