The Google Pixel 4 is a great Android 10 smartphone with an excellent camera. But it's let down by below-average battery life

Below average battery life

Google focuses on camera upgrades for the Pixel 4, playing it remarkably safe elsewhere.
Great camera is now even better Solid easy-to-grip design Beautiful 90Hz display
No fingerprint scanner Battery life is poor Motion Sense is very basic
If you’re in the market for one of the very best camera phones out there, the Pixel 4 should be at or close to the top of your list. If you’re looking for an all-round feature-packed phone, you may be a bit disappointed, and the battery life is...

Great camera gets even better Solid, grippy design
No fingerprint scanner No headphone jack Motion Sense is very basic
If you're in the market for a new camera-focused phone, the Google Pixel 4 looks set to be one of the best options around – but those looking for a feature-packed all-rounder may find Google's latest lacking in some areas.

Google's fourth-gen Pixel brings with it Motion Sense gesture control and a great camera. But poor battery life and the competition let it down...
Great camera performance ; Pure Android software ; Exclusive smart features ; We love the tactile design - especially in Just White and Oh So Orange ; Great (albeit small) display
Battery life really isn't its strong suit ; Motion Sense gestures add little to nothing ; No wide-angle camera ; No third-party face unlock support - and no fingerprint scanner as backup
We love almost everything about the Pixel 4. It takes great photos, it looks and feels great, and has a brilliant camera. But its battery life definitely needs improving and the Motion Gestures are virtually useless.

The Google Pixel 4 adds a second rear camera lens, motion controls, a 90Hz display, and more - but none of it matters when the battery life is this bad.

Google's two new Pixels are almost identical - but can they set themselves apart from the competition?
Cracking camera ; It’s the vessel for all Android’s new bits ; Good speakers
Battery life is only OK ; No fingerprint scanner ; Bland design ; Stingy on storage
The purist’s Android choice, with clean software and a terrific camera – but it’s not the most dynamic flagship phone around
