With the 7100v you can get the BlackBerry mobile email client in a much smaller form factor than the original, but how many compromises have been made?
The 7100v is a good attempt to make a BlackBerry device smaller, so that it can be the only phone you have to carry. Unfortunately the usability has been compromised too much in order to achieve the smaller form factor, and more phone-like appearance....

If you think BlackBerry devices are all blue and square-ish, you are in for a surprise. Eager to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, and aware that the size and shape of traditional BlackBerry ...
The BlackBerry concept is great if you need access to e-mail all the time and don't need sophisticated handheld computing features. SureType was not that successful for us, but this reviewer comes from a keyboard-using background rather than a...

BlackBerry phone's svelte form and unusual (but usable) new text-input software make for a genuinely useful phone-e-mail hybrid.

Full internet access, including email, is now available on this phone-sized device from Vodafone. Why restrict yourself to a standard internet connection?
Although still expensive when compared to the deals you can get on standard mobile phones or fixed internet connections, this is a decent way of getting a mobile phone onto the internet, but heavy web and email users should keep an eye on their GPRS bill.

You've seen those company exec's talking into a pocket calculator sized phone? well that was the first blackberry. But now that's a thing of the past as RIM give us the new 7100V but is it a Blackberry or a Raspberry?

The RIM BlackBerry 7130c sports a very sleek and compact form factor, as well as a solid feature set that includes Bluetooth, EDGE support, and a speakerphone. The 7130c also has excellent call quality and can deliver e-mail in real time.
The SureType technology on the RIM BlackBerry 7130c takes some acclimation.
The RIM BlackBerry 7130c is an excellent phone and e-mail device for consumers and professionals alike; plus, it's one of the best-designed BlackBerrys we've seen to date.

It takes time to master the keyboard, web browsing is slow and there's a distinct lack of expandability. But it doesn't matter: the BlackBerry 7100v is a fantastic way to keep in touch with your email

Vodafone's BlackBerry 7100v is a fair mobile email device so long as you don't need to handle graphics, large spreadsheets or complex documents. But as a handheld/phone combo it's eclipsed by more capable Palm OS- and Windows Mobile-based offerings.
