Hands-on: A great value 5-inch, Full HD smartphone from an unlikely source.
It's safe to say that we were impressed with the One Touch Idol X prototype we got our hands on and with a potential price of under £250 (TBC) it looks to be an absolute bargain. The four colour options and sleekness of design will appeal to the style...

A mid-price, high spec smartphone
Super slim design ; Decent camera ; Good HD display ; Snappy processor
No expandable storage ; No 4G or NFC ; No update from Android 4.2 ; Lack of app draw
Ratings in depth On paper the Alcatel One Touch Idol X looks amazing value for money, but in reality can it hold its ground when compared to its rivals? Will it party with the stars or is it more likely to fall into the pile of devices which fail to...

The Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ is one of the big surprises so far at CES. Looking at the spec sheet it's a powerful smartphone keeping up with the flagships

I have been surprised and impressed by the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X. This smartphone is one of the lighter devices in its class but it offers a great feature set for the price and is a superb first salvo from Alcatel.

Dual SIM; Bright, sharp screen; Slender, colourful design
No 4G; Occasionally glitchy; Iffy battery life

But thanks to a stunningly svelte bezel, it doesn't feel oversize.

Pocket Idol. The One Touch Idol X+ is Alcatel's newest flagship model. Those looking for LTE, a super-fast CPU and expandable storage will be disappointed. Still, we are quite fond of this 5-inch device. Read on to find out why.
Lightweight chassis., Two SIM ports., Reliable, quick GPS module., Great Wi-Fi reception quality., Fine speech quality., Decent camera., Bright IPS panel., Low heat emissions., Decent battery life., Alcatel has managed to rid the Idol X of some of its...
Prone to smudges on the screen., Sometimes sub-par build quality., SIM cards not easy to insert., Slow 3G module., No LTE., Bluish tint., High power consumption., The chassis is actually a lot worse than that of the Idol X

Alcatel is back to cooking Android phones with a vengeance, and its One Touch Idol X is shaped to be one of the most affordable and well-equipped Full HD 5-inchers, not to mention the dual SIM option it offers. From this season's flagship specs list...
Very light, compact and affordable 5-incher ; Excellent Full HD display ; Hot-swap dual SIM support ; Good call quality
Weak processor for graphically intensive tasks
Alcatel has managed to produce an excellent handset with the One Touch Idol X – it is the thinnest, lightest and one of the cheapest 5” handsets with Full HD displays, which are all the rage these days.

As an updated version of the One Touch Idol X, reviews indicate that Alcatel once again proves that you don't have to be a mainstream flagship phone to offer great performance. While it might not keep up with the latest devices, it certainly seems to...
Bright, crisp display, Long battery life, Excellent audio output
Inconsistent camera quality
