Acer adds a front-facing LED flash for better selfies
Good 13-megapixel camera in the right conditions, Sharp 720p HD screen, Useful back button
Sluggish performance, No 4G support, Average speakers

The Liquid E3 has a decent spec list, just don't try and make a call
13MP rear camera ; Stereo speakers ; Forward facing flash
Atrocious call quality ; Lack of internal storage ; Old software
A HD screen, forward facing flash and stereo speakers give the Acer Liquid E3 a decent spec list, but really poor call quality and an old OS leave this handset lagging behind its closest rivals.

Acer announced the Liquid E3 smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2014, featuring a 4.7-inch display and quad-core processor under the hood. We got our

As a mid-range smartphone, the Acer Liquid E3's price tag will be appealing to many. It costs £160, which is much lower than the Sony Xperia M2's £230, but slightly more than the Motorola Moto G's £135.
The Acer Liquid E3 is a tough phone to rate because it has some really outstanding features like the camera options, the display and the front-facing speakers, but suffers from a slow processor, a design that won't appeal to everyone, old software and...

On the downside, the Acer Liquid E3 doesn't have an awful lot of physical storage. The 4GB it comes with will fill up in no time. Thankfully Acer has recognised this and has equipped the Liquid E3 with a microSD slot, so users can boost the space on...
We're incredibly impressed with what the Liquid E3 gives you for the money. If you don't mind having to fork out for a microSD card to boost the storage then you could do a lot worse than this smartphone.

The Acer Liquid E3 is a great value mid-ranger with solid specs all round and a useful rear button, but limited storage and a lack of 4G hold it back from greatness.
+ Useful rear button ; + Intuitive interface ; + Good value ; + Decent camera
- Only 4GB of storage ; - No 4G

While the likes of HTC, Samsung, Sony and LG duke it out for the title of most-coveted Android flagship phone, the middle and lower end of the market is populated by just as many companies keen to snap up budget-conscious buyers with low-cost devices.
Great design, Good camera for this price, Expandable storage, Loud stereo speakers, Good screen
Low internal storage, Occasionally sluggish processor, No upgrade to Android Lollipop likely
Cheap, cheerful and packing a decent HD screen and 13 megapixel camera, the Liquid E3 is a good budget option, provided you can live with its less positive aspects
