Can't recommend

 

I upgraded to 2GB, T9300, 7200 rpm, 667 mhz, 1 DIMM to try to get a faster machine with more storage. Still, it takes 30 seconds+ to open a small Word file. Overall, I'm very disappointed in my purchase.

It's quiet and doesn't get hot like some laptops. It seems to be pretty sturdy

Unexpected things happen, but rarely the same thing twice. I dislike the scroll function (it will bounce up and down really fast, or be stopped and suddenly jump up or down); the touch pad and touch point(?) button(?), the speakers, and all the crazy...

Check your recovery disks!!

 

UP grading memory to 3GB and the HD to a SATA2 7200rpm (16MB cache) will speed your machine. You need a HD transfer program or you will have to set up your Lenovo utilities and hidden folder all over again, a daunting procedure.

Well built, great keyboard. Great security - Fingerprint reader plus). Would have gone 5Stars but for the LCD. Speed is only moderate for a dual core CPU. Video is good for a shared memory video card. Mine bought Aug, was the last of the XP T61's...

If you have an XP OS, check your recovery disks (the recovery instruction sheet states Windows Vista in the 1st line). Mine came with Vista recovery and they will not work for you with XP. Lenovo will send you new ones FREE. Problem is because of their...

This is the third Lenovo T8100 we have purchased, the other two we have, are perfect and have never failed in any way shape or form for the last 6 months. Hence we've decided to run these as are standard Company Laptop.
