The webcam has moved – but not much else
Webcam has finally moved ; Core i9 power ; Gorgeous OLED screen option
No major redesign
The Dell XPS 15 for 2019 addresses the laptop’s most glaring flaw – the webcam placement – but doesn’t do much more than this beyond some updated internals. This feels like a missed opportunity to bring Dell’s flagship 15-inch laptop in line with the...

The Dell XPS 15 7590 is Dell's most powerful range of laptops, featuring impressive specifications that top out at the fastest Intel Core i9 processors combined with 32GB of Ram, along with an optional 4K OLED s...

A solid video-editing laptop requires immense processing power and a color-accurate screen. The new OLED Dell XPS 15 has both in spades, especially with the optional eight-core Core i9 processor. I put it to the test to see just how fast this laptop...
Excellent performance with Core i9 ; Gorgeous, color-accurate OLED display ; Webcam placement has been fixed ; Convenient port selection ; Excellent keyboard and touchpad

OLED and Core i9 come with compromises
Still an elegant workhorse ; OLED is awesome ; The webcam is back where it belongs
Powerful components get hot and can throttle ; OLED screen is a battery hog ; Quality control issues may still be a problem
And while we’re adding to the wishlist, I’d sure love if Dell replaced the proprietary 130W power brick with the company’s more versatile USB-C version, too.

The 7590 model doesn't reinvent the XPS 15 design, but the OLED display and top-tier components of our test unit keep this Dell staple a crowd-pleasing desktop-replacement laptop.

Striking 4K OLED display ; Great overall and graphics performance ; Webcam in the right place ; Slim, attractive design
Below-average battery life
The Dell XPS 15's striking OLED screen, Core i9 CPU and Nvidia GTX 1650 GPU make it a beautiful and powerful workhorse.

Notebookcheck tests the Dell XPS 15 7590 with a Core i5 processor and matte Full HD display. Will the multimedia notebook also be able to convince us without the GeForce graphics?
easy maintenance options; expandable RAM, SSD, and WLAN;very good 1080p display (matte, very bright, full sRGB coverage);Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C power delivery;very quiet during surfing and streaming;excellent battery life;very extensive selection...
base version with significantly lower graphics performance;small and narrow arrow keys;surfaces are susceptible to dirt;still has some latency problems;only 12-month standard warranty;no quick-charge function

The XPS 15 is back with new Core i9 options, new GTX Turing graphics options, and new 4K UHD OLED options. We test the highest-end configuration of the XPS 15 7590 to see what the latest series can offer when it's supposedly at its best.
easy serviceability; upgradeable RAM, SSD, and WLAN;OLED is easily the best-looking XPS 15 panel yet;Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C Power Delivery;quiet when browsing or streaming;optimal webcam positioning;very wide selection of SKUs;fastest XPS 15 to...
below average Core i9-9980HK and GTX 1650 performance; short-lived Turbo Boost potential;fully inserted SD card does not sit flush against the edge;aging cooling solution could use some updates;small and cramped Arrow keys;average battery recharge...

If you can afford it, the XPS 15 is a powerful laptop with a superb screen, plenty of internal storage, good battery life and a very robust design.
Solid build ; Superb screen, if you can afford OLED ; Up to 2TB of SSD storage ; Good battery life
Short on ports and connectors ; Large, heavy power brick with fiddly round-pin connector ; Speakers could use more bass ; Optimum configuration could prove expensive

The Dell XPS 15 (2019) is one of the best laptops you can buy. A stunning 4K OLED display and a Intel Core i9 make it a great tool for content creators on the move.
Superb build quality ; Fast performance ; Stunning 4K OLED display
Average audio performance ; Expensive
