Dell bills its 2-in-1 laptop as ‘beautifully versatile' and while we can't argue that it's not a good-looking laptop, we might just have something to say about its versatility. We sent it to our test lab to find...

Dell's latest premium convertible sports a bright screen and long battery life.
Extremely Bright Screen ; Roomy and accurate touchpad ; Good battery life and performance
Keyboard feels like a step backwards ; Limited port selection ; Build quality should be more polished at this price ; Entry model ships with just 4GB of RAM
Dell’s latest premium convertible sports a bright screen and long battery life, plus improved performance thanks to a 10th Gen “Ice Lake” CPU. But a lackluster keyboard and build quality issues mean you may want to consider alternatives.

Clean design ; Strong performance ; Solid battery life ; Bright display
Mediocre speakers ; No full-size USB-A ports ; Frustrating starting configuration
The Dell XPS 13 is an attractive laptop with strong performance and a bright display, but you shouldn’t get the base configuration.

The XPS 13 has always been easy to recommend -- that is, unless you needed a good video conferencing webcam. So, what happens when Dell fixes one of the only problems we had with the XPS 13? Well, it's near perfection. The 2019 XPS 13 shows Dell...
Sleek design ; New colorways are great ; Webcam re-positioned ; Redesigned hinge opens easily ; Speedy, ultrabook performance
The Dell XPS 13 was already the best laptop. Now it’s nearly perfect

Dell's latest XPS 13 may look the same as the prior generation model that it succeeds, but this latest update makes this stellar laptop even more powerful. With new Comet Lake processors at the helm, the XPS 13 now supports the option for up to a...
Massive power ; Light, thin, and portable ; Beautiful 4K screen ; Great battery life
The new XPS 13 is as portable as ever, but just got way more powerful

Ice Lake has been years in the coming, and the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is the first to use Intel's 10nm processors. The device has been completely revamped, now showing off a brand-new design, including a new keyboard and taller screen. This is a new...
Refined design ; Even thinner bezels ; More screen space ; Iris Plus graphics are included
Dell's new XPS 13 2-in-1 is a refreshing headfirst dive into Intel's Ice Lake

Six appeal
Compact, light chassis ; Reliable keyboard and trackpad ; Bright, sharp 4K display ; Beefy six-core processor
Powerful chip is held back by thermal limitations ; Weak integrated GPU ; Dated design
The six-core XPS 13 is a strange computer. It feels like a holdover until something better is available in both design and internals. That first part probably isn’t too far off, since CES 2020 is just about a month away, but it’s hard to say how long...

It's everything we like about Dell's XPS 13 clamshell in a two-in-one design -- and with better battery life and performance.
Dell's redesigned premium XPS 13 2-in-1 is an all-around improvement in design, features and performance, making it one of the best in the category.
Memory and storage are onboard and can't be upgraded post-purchase. Dell's active pen is not included and the white model costs extra, too.
With the new XPS 13 2-in-1, Dell finally has a convertible that's just as great as its XPS 13 laptop. Just make sure you get all the components you need up front.

Packing Intel's latest 10th Generation "Comet Lake" CPUs (now, with up to six cores), the latest rev of Dell's XPS 13 is one of the most powerful and best designed ultraportables you can buy.

The new XPS 13 2-in-1 has a better design and much better performance than the prior version
Spacious keyboard and trackpad ; Fast performance from 10th-gen Ice Lake processor ; 16:10 screen is much better for productivity
Still not a very practical tablet ; Touchscreen doesn’t always register taps ; Low-profile keyboard can be divisive
Overall, the XPS 13 2-in-1 is the computer I’ve been wanting Dell to make — more daring and interesting than the staid standard model, but still maintaining the qualities that have made the XPS 13 a perennial contender. The 2-in-1 makes no compromises...
