MacBook Pro with Retina display 15-inch (2013)

Workstation performance without the workstation bulk, but it comes at a hefty premium.

Stunning design and build quality ; Outstanding retina screen ; Cool and quiet ; Class-leading battery life

Graphics performance is nothing special ; You'll need to start saving

Regrettably Apple has long since abandoned selling matte versions of its laptops, but there's some comfort in the fact reflections from the screen are much better than average. The combination of coatings, filters and the tight 'air gap' between the...

13-inch MacBook Pro review: is this the power laptop to beat?

Apple's latest Pro blows the MacBook Air out of the water

Retina display ; Doyble RAM ; Processor speed bump

Not huge update ; Battery life ; MacBook Air instead?

MacBook Pro 15-inch with Retina display review

Has the Retina MacBook Pro finally come of age?

Fast Haswell processors ; Fantastic Retina screen ; Thunderbolt 2 ports ; Good range of bundled apps

No integrated optical drive ; No matte screen option ; No discrete graphics in this model ; Expensive ; Almost impossible to user upgrade

Intel's latest chip and Thunderbolt 2 make Apple's Retina display laptop the one to beat.

Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, Retina, Late 2013) 2.3GHz nVidia review

Last month we couldn't wait to get our hands on the Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch, in its latest Retina-display guise. The original Retina laptop can be seen as the pinnacle of modern portable computing, and this year's gentle upgrades to the processor,...

Apple’s ‘best’ configuration MacBook Pro with Retina display of late 2013 sees the reintroduction of a discrete graphics processor, now removed from the entry-level model. This will be useful for some OpenCL-based professional applications as well as...

Apple 15in Macbook Pro with Retina Display (Late 2013) review

The most powerful laptop money can buy, but it's very expensive and the battery doesn't last as long as last year's model

The new 15in Macbook Pro remains one of the most powerful laptops money can buy, but the increased price of both this year’s models will put it firmly out of reach for most people. It’s possible to find a good specification if you’re willing to...

Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2013) review

Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro, recently updated to current-generation Intel CPUs (just in time for the holiday shopping season), retains its position as a favorite premium laptop for power-users. But that long-awaited upgrade, introduced at an Apple...

The second generation of Apple's Retina-screen MacBook Pro adds internal upgrades to its Wi-Fi, Thunderbolt, SSD, graphics card and CPU. The result is a faster laptop with better battery life and a lower starting price.

The changes are internal-only, and not significant enough to upgrade if you have last year's version. At $1,999 to start, this is still a very expensive laptop. Both the 13-inch MacBook Air and Pro have much better battery life.

The slimmer body and higher-res screen of the original Retina MacBook Pro were a revolutionary leap. This revamp adds modest internal upgrades for modest improvements, but price cuts to both the 13-inch and 15-inch models sweeten the deal.

Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, Retina, Late 2013) review - The laptop for productivity

When you really need to get productive on your laptop, the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013) is the machine for you. It's not just because the screen gives you so much more working space – there's also the matter of thermal design, since...

Haswell chips and Mavericks increase battery life; faster 11ac Wi-Fi, same great Retina display

Memory still soldered, upgrades overpriced, still no >HD output from HDMI

We can see why Apple decided the time was right to offer a 15-inch MacBook Pro without nVidia or AMD graphics. Intel’s Iris Pro has finally brought the kind of improvement that unlocks decent gameplay and rendering power. Power users will still be...

REVIEW: Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro With Retina Display (Late 2013)

Apple raised the bar for professional laptops when it introduced the new 15-inch MacBook Pro With Retina Display last year. It was a typically expensive Apple product, but the large, high-resolution IPS screen was ideal for creative users who needed a...

The 15-inch MacBook Pro is very expensive and, of course, significantly larger and heavier than its 13-inch counterpart, so business travellers who value portability above all else will prefer the slimline MacBook Air or a Windows Ultrabook. The...

Apple MacBook Pro 15in w/Retina display review (Late-2013)

The latest MacBook Pro packs Intel's Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and all-day battery life.

Outstanding display; All-day battery life; Excellent touchpad; Plenty of software bundled; Beautiful design

Bulky; Expensive; Poor user serviceability; Sharp corners

This is one of the best large-screen laptops on the market. Battery life, responsiveness, display quality and versatility are unmatched. However, the high-price and limited serviceability prevent this from getting a wholehearted recommendation.

15-inch Retina MacBook Pro (late 2013) review: Apple's best laptop yet

Apple's 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro is a very desirable piece of kit. Packing an immense amount of power, yet measuring just 1.8 cm thick, it's far more portable than the beefy laptops of old.

For us, the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro is the best portable that Apple makes. It has all the power that 99% of people will ever need, is extremely well put together and has one of the best operating systems out there.
