Apple MacBook Pro

Possibly the most beatiful laptop ever made, but can Apple get the rest right? Sasha Muller gives the MacBook Pro a thorough going over.

Apple's recent launch of its new range of MacBooks wrongfooted fans and journalists alike. Rumours abounded of what the mysterious Apple 'Brick' could be but, against all the expectations of a new, ground-breaking product, it turned out to be simply a...

Review: Apple MacBook Pro

The high-end portable Mac gets a major update, but is it suitable as a PC replacement for business users?

You're paying a fairly hefty premium for the MacBook Pro, but it's typically well designed and houses some powerful components. However, the glossy screen will put off many corporate users, as will the lack of an integrated DVI output.

Apple MacBook Pro

Apple returns, with an all-new design MacBook Pro, and it's a looker. But does it have what it takes for value and performance.

Apple's given its Macbook Pro a thorough makeover but, for all its charm, it's still overpriced.

Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch

This model is based on Intel's relatively new Santa Rosa platform. Its Core 2 Duo chip speed has gone up from 2.33GHz to 2.4GHz but the real story is the laptop's underlying infrastructure..

Excellent screen. Powerful. Small & light. Innovative features.

Single button trackpad.

The 17-inch MacBook Pro is a wonder of engineering; it's marvellously small and light, and innovations such as the magnetic power cable and backlit keyboard are unique - though the lack of a two-button trackpad is still annoying

The 15.4inch MacBook Pro is a similar size to the 15inch PowerBook G4 that it replaces - and looks just as slim and sexy next to the majority of Windo...

Slim and sexy, Magnetic Power connector, iSight Webcam, Faster than previous models

Expensive, Poor Screen Resolution, Graphics need work

It's expensive, but the MacBook Pro offers better performance and speed than its predecessors and ships standard with a whole range of intuitive features

Macbook Pro

For people who appreciate finer laptop accoutrements such as a backlit keyboard and a slot-fed DVD drive, Apple has crafted another tasty offering in the form of the 17-inch MacBook Pro. Sleek, powerful, and able to run Windows as well as the Mac...

Thin and light for a big notebook

Hard drive isn't user-accessible

Correction: The MacBook Pro's reign as fastest notebook ended on 10/25/2007, not 11/23/2007 as was previously reported. We apologize for the error
