Acer Aspire 5 A514 Laptop Review: Not Intel Comet Lake at its Best

 

It may be equipped with Intel's latest 10th gen processor, but almost everything else about the laptop feels rather dated. The Aspire 5 is heavier and larger than many other 14-inch alternatives without offering any notable advantages.

relies on proprietary AC adapter; no USB Type-C charging;keyboard keys have weak feedback and shallow travel;below average CPU performance;large footprint; thick bezels;heavy for its screen size;CPU performance bugs;spongy clickpad keys;no SD card reader

It’s a great value machine, robust, lightweight, and powerful enough to handle just about every essential function. For the price to build quality is excellent, but if you’re expecting something dense, heavy and expensive that’s not this machine

Similar to other reviews, the fan can be loud. We would have sent it back at one point but the sound died down and it is now better.

rapid speed

why have I got a separate HDD upgrade kit, it would have made more sense to install this before delivery, I wouldn't like to attempt this procedure
