Jabra BT530 Bluetooth Headset Review

Today we have a product from Jabra; it's the BT530 which is part of the “Smart Series” which boasts that it uses “Cutting-edge technologies to set you free and bring you closer to the perfect sound, comfort and connection”. Well let's have a look and...

All in all, the BT530 is a very aesthetically pleasing headset which has excellent sound and build quality. One feature in particular could be fixed to make this a perfect headset which is the ear hook, which I think should be movable to allow more...

Jabra BT530

Multipoint Bluetooth headset bundled with a USB adapter.

Design, included USB adapter, multipoint Bluetooth, range of ear gels included

Hefty price tag, incoming audio could be louder and clearer, no AC charger included

The BT530 isn't a bad headset, but if you can do without the USB adapter then it's best to look for a cheaper alternative.

BT530

Putting on the GN Netcom Jabra BT530 ($100 as of December 1, 2008) involved minimal attachment hassles--a plus for those who like their Bluetooth headset to have an earhook.

Comfortable fit, sleek design Hook and no-hook options

Inconsistent call quality Call button hard to reach initially

The BT530's call quality was all over the map: My voice sounded incredibly clear during some calls, but at other times the call recipients picked up on echoes and some distortion of my voice. The other parties sometimes thought my voice sounded hollow,...

Jabra BT 530 Bluetooth Headset review: Jabra BT 530 Bluetooth Headset

Jabra has been a household name in Bluetooth headsets for years, surviving competition from the likes of trendy names like Aliph and newcomers like BlueAnt. And there's a reason why: Jabra usually delivers quality headsets. Like the BT8040 and the JX10...

The Jabra BT530 is an easy-to-use headset that delivers excellent noise-cancellation. It comes with a variety of gel tips for additional comfort for ears of all sizes.

The Jabra BT530 has a boring design, and voice quality could be improved.

The Jabra BT530 is a solid Bluetooth headset with great noise-cancellation at an affordable price.

Jabra BT530 with USB Adapter

Good looks and solid performance come at a price. If you don't intend to make use of the bundled USB adapter we suggest you look at cheaper alternatives.

Smart design ; Bundled USB Bluetooth Adapter ; Multi-point connectivity ; A huge number of replaceable ear gels

Soft audio levels ; Expensive ; No power adapter (only USB charging cable)

The BT530 and bundled A330 adapter could come to good use in a SMB, but unless you plan to take advantage of the multi-point connectivity and the PC telephony function, we suggest checking out cheaper alternatives first.

Jabra BT530 headset and USB adapter review

A surprise awaits when you use this headset for voice calls over IM services - it's easier than you think.

- still need to install some software from a CD or downloaded from Jabra website (the most up-to-date version). I would recommend having a small flash storage on the device itself to make it easy to install the software directly from the device but...
