All about the bass, and nothing else, for these one-track-minded headphones...

Deep bass ; Forward presentation ; Well constructed

Lack detail ; Narrow dynamic range ; Time poorly ; Balance is too bass-heavy

If you care only for low end, your £80 is safe here; otherwise, we’d be happier spending half that price for a better-rounded pair of in-ears

The Beats by Dr. Dre urBeat delivers the typical Beats bass-heavy sound, distortion-free and at a reasonable price.

Powerful audio performance with deep bass. No distortion at top volumes. In-line microphone and remote for phone calls, playback control. Solid, alluring design.

Highly sculpted frequency response isn't for everyone. Getting a consistent fit can be difficult. Ear tips can be uncomfortable over long listening sessions.

Tight, deep bass ; Clear overall sound ; Tangle-free, durable cabling

Difficult to get a proper seal ; Uncomfortable for longer listening sessions ; Bass sometimes overwhelms the rest of the music
