Panasonic Lumix GX80

The Panasonic Lumix GX80 is the company's newest compact system camera, and is designed to be a pared-down version of the more advanced GX8; it sits just above the GF6 in Panasonic's lineup.

Panasonic GX80/GX85 review

Panasonic's latest gives you an electronic viewfinder and lots more, in a compact rangefinder-style body

Excellent image quality ; Great set of features, including 4K video/photo modes ; Consistent and accurate AF performance

Ergonomics not as good as some rivals ; No minimum shutter speed option for Auto ISO ; Only 16MP compared to the 20MP of the GX8

Although the price may seem a little on the high side compared with competing cameras like the X-T10, the GX80 is a strong proposition that offers the ability to shoot 8MP images at 30 frames per second as well as touch-control.

Panasonic Lumix GX80 review: Small in scale, big on features

With the Lumix GF8 absent from British shores, we were beginning to wonder if Panasonic had bailed on the smaller-scale and more affordable compact system camera concept. But that's not the case, as the latest Lumix GX80 (or GX85 in the USA) stands to...

Super quiet shutter, great Dual IS (including sensor-based 5-axis stabilisation), quality images (first Lumix G to lose low-pass filter), solid build quality for an affordable price, Pinpoint AF, touchscreen

No ISO 100 option, image processing can negate critical detail (from ISO 3200), limited battery life, loses a stop in shutter speed (compared to GX8), continuous autofocus still not quite there

In many respects the Panasonic Lumix GX80 is a more desirable purchase option than its GX8 big brother: it's smaller, for starters, has the core viewfinder and tilt-angle LCD make-up included, adds 5-axis image stabilisation and, critically, is more...

Panasonic's ultra-compact lens swapper packs a punch, but won't dent your wallet - Panasonic Lumix GX80 review

Panasonic GX80 review - a great and compact all-rounder

Responsive and feature-packed, the Panasonic GX80 ticks a lot of boxes and is competitively priced

Compare it to the superb Fujifilm X-T10 , and the GX80 looks extremely impressive with its superior autofocus controls, touchscreen, 4K video and wealth of exotic shooting modes. It’s up to you to decide whether these features are worth more than the...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 is a compact mirrorless camera with quick autofocus, strong image quality, and 4K video capture.

Compact. Built-in EVF and flash. Tilting touch screen. Quick autofocus. 8.6fps continuous shooting with large buffer. 30fps 4K Photo mode. 5-axis image stabilization. 4K video capture. Wi-Fi.

4K video is slightly cropped. Omits weather sealing. Shooting rate slows during Raw or AF-C capture. Screen doesn't face forward for selfies. No mic input.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 is an attractive option for photographers in want of a compact mirrorless camera. It focuses and shoots quickly, records video at 4K resolution, and offers a bevy of controls. Add Wi-Fi, an in-body EVF and flash, and a...

Lumix GX85

The GX85 has small design and relatively low price for a Micro Four Thirds camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 (black)

With an electronic viewfinder, fast continuous shooting and 4K video, it fits right into that camera's demographic: an enthusiast-friendly model with a feature set that should also appeal to families and travelers at a reasonable price.

It delivers excellent photo and video for a Micro Four Thirds camera, especially at its price, plus a great feature set and fast performance.

The continuous autofocus occasionally fails to lock at all in burst mode, and the battery life is poor.

LIke other Panasonic models before it, the Lumix GX85/GX80 packs a lot for its price, including great photos, 4K video and speed.
