Olympus PEN-F

Olympus was one of the first companies to release a compact system camera, introducing the PEN EP-1 back in 2009. It took its design lead from the classic Olympus PEN cameras from the glory days of film, and since then Olympus has not only evolved the...

Olympus Pen-F review: Not F-ing about

Say hello to the first Olympus Pen with a built-in viewfinder: the Pen-F. If you were knocking around 50-years back then you might know it as, well, the original Pen-F - the half-frame film camera that looks very similar to this 2016 digital re-work....

Standout retro design, great built-in 5-axis image stabilisation, decent 20MP image quality to take on panasonic GX8, fun colour/art filter dial control

So-so battery life, particularly expensive, no 4K video, complex menus, small design elements aren’t quite right (small buttons, plastic flaps)

Just as it did with the original Pen, Olympus has launched another classic in the Pen-F. The elegant design is eye-catching enough to steal some of Fujifilm's retro-styled limelight, without compromising on the feature set. Deciding between Panasonic...

This PEN is F-in' mighty

Gorgeous design ; Compact and sturdy ; Highly customisable control setup

Not a huge improvement over the cheaper E-M5 II

Olympus PEN-F review

The most advanced PEN-series camera has the features, handling and image quality to charm enthusiast photographers

High quality electronic viewfinder ; New 20Mp sensor ; Build quality and controls

Small, fiddly buttons on the back ; Expensive next to other Olympus cameras ; High Res Shot mode of limited use

The PEN-F looks and feels great, giving you plenty of easy to access control as well as lots of customisation options. It has a host of clever features and while images don't always look as sharp as from some other cameras, it produces high quality...

Olympus PEN-F review

Olympus' street-photography-focused PEN-F is the latest in the company's line of enthusiast mirrorless interchangeable-lens models, the first of its cameras to use the 20-megapixel Four Thirds sensor and a departure from the PEN line's viewfinderless...

The Olympus PEN-F is fast, delivers great photos in a streamlined body and offers a nice feature set.

The camera lacks a grip and video is not one of Olympus' strong suits. Plus, it really should be at least modestly dust- and weather-sealed for the money.

Excellent photo quality and performance and a system with tiny, fast prime lenses make the Olympus PEN-F a great camera for street photography.

Olympus PEN-F review

  (Rating Hidden)

With a healthy mix of new and old, the Olympus PEN-F is a compact system camera that combines retro styling and modern specifications to suit most photographers. It has some of the best image stabilisation we've seen, but how does this translate to...

Goondu review: Olympus Pen-F October 9th, 2016 | by Wilson Wong Imaging 0

There's no doubt the pricey S$1,798 Olympus Pen-F (body only) will perform well in the hands of a good photographer when matched with the appropriate lens.

Olympus Pen-F

The Olympus Pen-F is yet another camera vying for your attention, positioning itself quite nicely in the retro section of the mirrorless market. After shooting with it for about two weeks, here are four things worth noting on Olympus' latest

EVF, Old school look with leatherette, Wi-Fi, Good build, New 20 MP sensor

Small buttons and less than a clean look, Not weather sealed, Pretty expensive, Menu structure still a pain

Olympus Pen F: A slick camera that caters to the film nostalgic [REVIEW]

The Olympus Pen F is the ultimate interchangeable lens camera throwback to old film cameras.

Gorgeous retro design ; Tons of buttons and dials ; Bright, sharp electronic viewfinder ; Supports all MFT lenses ; Crisp touchscreen with flippable hinge ; Nifty color profile control dial

Really expensive ; No lens bundle ; Touchscreen doesn't work for everything

The Olympus Pen-F is the ultimate digital camera throwback to old film cameras.
