There is no shortage of desktop PCs (and even a handful of laptops) that meet the minimum specs required for the first generation of consumer virtual reality headsets. Both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive ask for recent Intel Core i5 or i7 processors,...

Insanely powerful, thanks to the very high-end parts in this configuration, yet still compact enough to not hog your desk. Expert construction, a sturdy chassis, and a clean understated look.

Very expensive, even configured with lower-end parts. The internal components aren't as easily accessible as in a standard tower. New high-end graphics card hardware may (or may not) be right around the corner.

The Falcon Northwest Tiki is the most powerful, and most expensive, VR-ready PC we've tested to date.

If you need the sheer power of a fully loaded gaming PC in package no bigger than a console, the Falcon Northwest Tiki should be your first choice.

Slim. Killer paint job. Supports 4K gaming and video. Strong performance on multimedia and 3D benchmark tests. Three-year warranty.

Pricey as heck. Limited room for upgrades.

Conclusion The Falcon Northwest Tiki can compete, delivering smooth gameplay at 1080p and higher resolutions, with all the eye candy turned on. Its well-built compact design takes up about as much space as a gaming console, but it's so much more...

Review: Falcon Northwest's console-sized, 18-core micro PC is gloriously overkill

 

Size doesn't matter: Falcon packs a 36-thread CPU, GeForce Titan X and the fastest NVME SSD into a PC not much bigger than a game console.

Small and light ; 18-core Xeon, GeForce Titan X and Intel 750-series SSD

Expensive ; Take big memory bandwidth hit

For the average power user, the Tiki is overkill.
