Apple Mac Pro: No update for 2018 – but expect a new Mac Pro in 2019

Whatever Apple reveals at its September event, the Mac Pro's big update isn't coming until next year

That doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll have to wait until September 2019, however. While new iPhones tend to come out to a regular annual cycle, Mac hardware is much less predictable. In previous years, plenty of new models and updates have emerged...

Apple's new Mac Pro desktop tested

This radically reimagined pro-level desktop is built for 4K video.

The ; 's hardware is incredibly powerful, especially if you're using it for pro-level graphics and video tasks. It can output to up to three 4K displays simultaneously, thanks to six Thunderbolt 2 ports plus HDMI. The system is whisper-quiet, with a...

Internal expandability is limited, and even the starting price is a hefty $3,000. While it's a very high-design product, the components inside are intended for professional use, and not especially suitable for Apple-loving home consumers.

Apple radically re-imagines the professional desktop with the new Mac Pro, featuring a design that looks fantastic and offers genuine breakthrough advantages. But, consumer-level Apple enthusiasts should note that this product isn't specifically...

Apple Mac Pro (Winter 2009) review: Apple Mac Pro (Winter 2009)

Apple Mac Pro (Winter 2009)

Best-in-class desktop design; interior makes upgrades and parts replacement simple; strong performance on HD video and 3D rendering thanks to new Intel CPU and faster RAM

Relatively slow performance on programs such as Photoshop that rely on single-core CPU speed; we wish it had eSATA instead of FireWire 800 for external hard-drive connections.

Apple's new eight-core Mac Pro demonstrates marked improvements over the older model in high-intensity digital media and multitasking scenarios. We also love the design tweaks that improve on Apple's already industry-leading sensibilities. Any...

Nice case...

The mac pro seriously breaks my heart as a system builder. I have nothing against OSX, it's a great OS, but I strongly urge potential buyers to look at their options here (you are, apparently, already at the Egg so look around). And If you love the...

OSX, good looking case. But seriously, Apple, how about a refresh?! For this price you could be giving your loyal customers a whole lot more computer ; honestly, I'm pretty sure buying a pre-assembled machine on the Egg is sacrilege

The last defense for buying this machine, besides OSX of course, was the 8 core machismo. Unfortunately for the Mac Pro, You can now you can get a Core i7 920, Sunbeam core contact freezer or TRUE, X58 T-power, and 6GB of DDR3 1600 all for about $800...

This is a Fantastic Deal for the Price

For the money, this is possible the best machine that you can buy or build depending on what you do.

All the people complaining that this is too expensive are either anti-Mac trolls, or just woefully uninformed. No, you can't build this machine for a third the price, and to the guy who suggested 2 C2Q's in a computer, good luck with that. It's...

There are none.
