Sony Handycam HDR-PJ30VE review

I must confess: I'm not a regular camcorder user. (When you look at the sample footage embedded in this article that will become obvious - Ed.) I prefer the convenience of a digital SLR or compact camera instead, and I rarely have a need to shoot just...

The stand-out features of the Sony Handycam HDR-PJ30VE are its Full HD video recording and inbuilt pico projector. As far as cameras with built-in projectors are concerned, this one is among the best, but it's a product that might only appeal to...

Sony HDR PJ30

Good picture quality, easy to transport.

Too small for easy operation of controls resulting in jerky filming. Projector feature is poor and a waste of money.

Sony HDR PJ30

Small, light, quick to find the relevant scene and playback. I purchased the largest battery available and this lasts forever. Easy to copy to external hard drive. Copies to hard drive and displays in chronological order even though recordings may be...

Slow to start recording movies from a cold start. STBY takes ages to display and REC even longer which means sudden opportunities and events are missed. My previous camcorder DCR-PC330E was much faster. Also slow to change from movie to photo and back....
